About us

Cakewalk handles plumbing, restoration and waterproofing across the GTA. Our work ranges from emergency water damage to smoke and odour remediation to foundation waterproofing. We get called when something has gone wrong in someone's home, which means our customers are usually stressed, often confused about what they're being told, and deciding whether to trust us.

The role

You'll be the person who goes to the house, figures out what's actually wrong, and explains it in a way the homeowner understands. Then you write the scope, price it, and close it.

This is not a script-reading job. On any given day you might be explaining to a senior why her recent paint didn't fix a smoke smell, walking a landlord through why his basement keeps flooding, or telling a realtor what her listing actually needs before it goes to market. The technical understanding matters as much as the selling.

What you'll do

- Run site assessments and diagnose the real problem, not just the symptom
- Write accurate scopes of work and price them against our labour and material costs
- Explain findings plainly to homeowners, property managers, realtors and adjusters
- Follow up on quotes and own your close rate
- Build relationships with realtors,



property managers, brokers and insurance contacts
- Hand off cleanly to production and stay involved through to completion
- Document everything — photos, findings, written scopes

Who we're looking for

- Experience in restoration, plumbing or waterproofing is a big plus. If you've carried a bag or run a crew and want to move into sales, we're interested.
- Comfortable in a crawlspace, an attic and a client's living room on the same day
- Can explain a technical problem without jargon and without talking down to people
- Honest about what a job needs. We'd rather lose a quote than sell someone a fix that won't hold.
- Organized enough to run your own pipeline and follow up without being chased
- Valid driver's licence and a clean record
- [Insurance/IICRC certification an asset]

What we offer

- $3000 base plus commission
