Jenik Freight is a growing international freight forwarding company helping businesses move cargo across global supply chains with speed, reliability, and compliance. As we scale, we're looking for a proactive, results-driven Sales & Marketing Intern to support our client acquisition efforts — from lead generation to deal closure.

This internship is perfect for someone who wants hands-on experience in B2B sales, active prospecting, cold calling, and digital marketing within a fast-paced logistics environment.

Role Overview
As a Sales & Marketing Intern (Fall Term), you'll take an active role in sourcing leads, initiating contact with potential clients, managing a pipeline of prospects, and supporting efforts to close new business. You’ll also contribute to our brand presence through digital marketing efforts that support sales enablement.

Start: Immediate

End date: 20 weeks from start date

Eligibility Criteria

- Enrolled full or part- time at an ELIGIBLE Canadian college or university and following a course of study that leads to a degree, diploma, or certificate.
- Studying any discipline, at any diploma or degree level
- Will be enrolled for at least the first 30 days of this internship
- Holds Canadian citizenship, Permanent Residency, or refugee status (International students are not eligible)

Key Responsibilities
Lead Generation & Research

- Identify and research potential B2B clients: importers, exporters, manufacturers, and distributors.
- Build and maintain a growing list of qualified prospects across targeted industries and geographies.




- Conduct outreach preparation including profiling, email scripts, and call lists.

Cold Calling & Outreach

- Conduct daily cold calls and emails to initiate contact with new leads.
- Present Jenik Freight’s services clearly and persuasively during first contact.
- Handle objections, gather prospect needs, and qualify leads based on freight requirements.
- Set up introductory meetings and demos for the Business Development team.

Pipeline Management

- Maintain an active sales pipeline of prospects at various stages (cold, warm, hot).
- Use a CRM or tracking sheet to log all activity, follow-ups, and next steps.
- Monitor lead status and ensure timely follow-ups to keep deals moving forward.

Sales Support & Closing

- Assist in preparing proposals, quotes, and follow-up materials for client meetings.
- Participate in client calls and virtual meetings as needed to support deal progression.
- Help coordinate between clients and operations to ensure a smooth handoff after the sale.
- Track closed deals and analyze conversion rates to improve the outreach strategy.

Digital Marketing Support

- Create social media content and outbound messages to support lead generation.




- Contribute to email marketing campaigns and track engagement performance.
- Conduct competitor research and suggest ideas for campaigns or positioning.

Requirements
Pursuing a degree in Business, Sales, Marketing, International Trade, or related field.

- Excellent communication skills (spoken and written) and comfortable with cold calling.
- Strong interpersonal skills and confidence engaging with decision-makers over phone/email.
- Highly organized and detail-oriented with ability to manage a sales pipeline.
- Familiarity with Microsoft Excel, Google Workspace, and CRM tools (e.g., HubSpot, Zoho) is a plus.
- Eager to learn about global logistics, freight forwarding, and international business.

Nice to Have

- Prior experience in cold calling or telesales (even part-time or campus-related).
- Knowledge of import/export industries, logistics, or supply chain.
- Ability to create basic sales content (Canva, PowerPoint, email templates).

Job Type: Internship / Co-op

Pay: $19.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20.0 – 37.5 per week
