About the Client

Inner Circle Agency is recruiting on behalf of an established, privately owned manufacturer in the flexible plastics and packaging industry, serving customers across Canada and the United States.

The company manufactures and converts polyethylene film for a range of industrial and commercial applications, with a strong focus on quality, service, lead times, and reliability. With ownership closely involved in the business, this is an entrepreneurial environment offering direct access to decision-makers and significant room for growth.

Role Overview

Our client is seeking an experienced Sales Director to drive new business development and expand the company's customer base across North America.

This is a hands-on sales role initially, with the successful candidate expected to personally prospect, develop, and close new accounts while managing their own pipeline and sales targets. As the sales function grows, the role will evolve into leading and developing a sales team and building a scalable sales process.

Key Responsibilities

- Identify, prospect, and develop new business across construction, building supplies, industrial, packaging, and related markets.

- Build and manage a pipeline of prospective customers through cold outreach, networking,



site visits, and industry events.

- Lead the full sales cycle from prospecting and qualification through negotiation and closing.

- Manage sales activity, pipeline development, and forecasting through HubSpot or a similar CRM.

- Develop commercially sound pricing strategies in a competitive, price-sensitive market.

- Work closely with production to ensure new business aligns with manufacturing capabilities and customer requirements.

- Recruit, develop, and lead additional sales team members as the function expands.

Qualifications

Required

- 5+ years of B2B sales experience with a proven track record of personally winning new business.

- Recent, hands-on prospecting and account acquisition experience.

- Experience in manufacturing, industrial B2B, packaging, distribution, or a closely related environment.

- Strong ability to manage the full sales cycle and build a pipeline from the ground up.

- Comfortable selling in a competitive market where service, quality, lead time, and reliability are key differentiators.

- Strong CRM and pipeline management skills.

- Fluent in English and French, both spoken and written.

- Based in or willing to relocate to Greater Montreal and legally authorized to work in Canada.

Preferred

- Experience in flexible packaging, plastic film, resin, extrusion, corrugated, labels, or industrial distribution.

- Previous experience both personally hunting for new business and leading a sales team.

- Experience working in an owner-operated or entrepreneurial manufacturing environment.

- Solid understanding of industrial products and the ability to communicate effectively with production and operations teams.
