Service Technician – Modular Homes

Location: Red Deer, AB
Job Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Wage: $25.00 - $35.00 per hour (typically starting around $30.00/hour)

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and dependable Service Technician to join our team in Red Deer. This hands-on position involves setting up modular homes after delivery, completing finishing work and repairs, and performing warranty service at customer sites throughout Central Alberta.

This is an excellent opportunity for a well-rounded tradesperson who enjoys working independently, solving problems, and providing exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities

- Set up modular homes following delivery to customer properties
- Complete finishing work and repairs related to transportation and installation
- Perform warranty service and maintenance at customer homes
- Diagnose and resolve a variety of construction-related issues
- Work independently or with a helper to complete projects efficiently and professionally
- Maintain a high standard of workmanship and customer satisfaction
- Travel to customer sites throughout Central Alberta as required

Ideal Candidate

We are looking for someone with broad construction and renovation experience. Experience in all areas is not required, but the more versatile your skill set, the better.

Preferred experience includes:

- Framing
- Door and window installation
- Siding
- Roofing
- Flooring (various types)
- Tile installation
- Cabinet installation
- Finish carpentry, including mouldings and trim

Additional experience considered an asset:

- Basic electrical work
- Plumbing (PEX and ABS systems)
- Drywall
- Painting

Requirements

- Valid driver's licence
- Clean driver's abstract, particularly over the past three years
- Ability and willingness to travel throughout Alberta
- Ability to work Monday through Friday, starting at 7:00 a.m.
- Ability to work overtime when required

Travel Requirements

This position involves regular travel to customer sites. Depending on project requirements and location, overnight travel may be required for up to one week at a time.

When overnight travel is necessary, hotel accommodations and meals are fully covered by the company.
