Kelly is recruiting on behalf of Horstman Canada, a well-established manufacturer in Brampton, Ontario, for an experienced Tool & Die Maker to join their Manufacturing Engineering team.
This opportunity is ideal for a skilled Tool & Die professional who enjoys a mix of die maintenance, troubleshooting, tooling modifications, and hands-on manufacturing support. The successful candidate will play a key role in supporting production operations by maintaining tooling, responding to production-related issues, and driving continuous improvement initiatives.

What You'll Be Doing
- Repair, maintain, troubleshoot, and modify tooling and dies
- Support production by responding to tooling-related issues and minimizing downtime
- Diagnose and resolve die, fixture, and tooling concerns impacting quality or production
- Perform tooling modifications and adjustments to support engineering and production requirements
- Operate manual mills, lathes, surface grinders, drill presses, and other toolroom equipment
- Read and interpret engineering drawings and blueprints
- Machine precision components to required tolerances
- Collaborate with Engineering, Production, and Maintenance teams to resolve manufacturing challenges
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives related to tooling performance and process efficiency
This position is approximately:
- 60% manufacturing support, troubleshooting, and repairs
- 40% toolmaking, fabrication, and modifications
What We're Looking For
- Minimum 5 years of Tool & Die, toolroom, or related skilled trades experience
- Strong experience with die maintenance, repair, and troubleshooting
- Experience supporting production in a manufacturing environment
- Strong manual machining experience with mills, lathes, and grinders
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and engineering drawings
- Strong understanding of machining tolerances and precision measurement
- Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively with cross-functional teams
Strong Assets
- Automotive manufacturing experience
- High-volume manufacturing experience
- Transfer die or progressive die experience
- Experience modifying tooling, fixtures, and production equipment
- Experience troubleshooting automated transfer systems
- Experience adjusting tooling to address part geometry or quality concerns
- CAD experience (AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Inventor or similar)
- Tool & Die Maker licence
Schedule
- Monday to Thursday: 7:00 AM - 4:00 PM
- Friday: 7:00 AM - 1:00 PM
- 40-hour work week
- Minimal overtime
Compensation & Benefits
