Clara Shades is a motorized shades manufacturing company catering to home automation integrators in Canada and the United States.

We are looking for an organized and reliable Shipping & Logistics Clerk to join our team.

The primary responsibility of this position is to coordinate outgoing shipments. This includes obtaining and comparing shipping quotes from different carriers, booking shipments, preparing the required shipping documentation, and following up on deliveries when necessary.

This is an administrative logistics position and does not require extensive logistics experience. We are looking for someone who is organized, comfortable working with computers, attentive to detail, and able to communicate effectively with shipping companies and our internal team.

Role Description

The Logistics Clerk is a full-time on-site role at Clara Shades, located in Montreal, QC who will be responsible for day-to-day tasks which include:

- Manage the receiving and shipping processes, including inspecting incoming shipments and preparing outgoing orders.
- Obtain shipping and freight quotes from different carriers
- Compare shipping options based on price, transit time, and service requirements
- Book shipments with UPS, FedEx, LTL freight carriers, and other transportation companies
- Handle logistics paperwork, such as bills of lading, and other required shipping documentation




- Communicate shipment information and delivery updates to the appropriate team members
- Conduct inventory counts to ensure accuracy and availability of stock.

Qualifications

- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently and efficiently
- Comfortable using computers, email, and online shipping platforms
- Must be Fluent in English, with good communications skills
- Fluent in French, with good communications skills (asset)
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills, and have the sense of urgency
- Proficiency in using inventory management software, such as Odoo or similar systems
- Knowledge of shipping regulations and procedures (asset)
- Ability to operate a forklift or willingness to obtain certification (asset)
- Experience in a similar role is an advantage
