Responsibilities

- Prepare soil for planting by tilling, fertilizing, and ensuring optimal conditions for crop growth
- Plant, water, fertilize, and monitor crops throughout their growth cycle
- Operate and maintain farm machinery such as tractors, plows, harvesters, and irrigation systems
- Perform routine maintenance on equipment using hand tools and power tools to ensure safe and efficient operation
- Manage irrigation systems to provide adequate water supply while conserving resources
- Conduct regular inspections of crops and equipment to identify issues early and address pest control or disease management as needed




- Assist with heavy lifting tasks involving bags of seed or fertilizer, as well as moving harvested produce or equipment around the farm

Skills

- Mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot and repair farm machinery and equipment
- Strong understanding of horticulture principles to promote healthy plant growth
- Experience with irrigation systems to optimize water distribution across fields
- Ability to operate heavy equipment safely and efficiently in outdoor conditions
- Familiarity with hand tools and power tools for maintenance tasks
- Basic math skills for measuring inputs, calculating areas, or estimating yields
- Physical stamina for heavy lifting and prolonged outdoor work in varying weather conditions
