Drycleaning Technician

The Laundry Guys – Kamloops, BC
Full-Time: $22-$24 Per Hour Depending on Experience

The Laundry Guys is a locally owned commercial laundry and dry cleaning business in Kamloops, BC. As our business continues to grow, we are looking for a reliable, detail-oriented dry cleaning technician to join our team in a full-time position.

This role is ideal for someone who takes pride in their work, has strong attention to detail, and is interested in developing specialized skills in professional garment care.

Previous dry cleaning or garment-care experience would be a strong asset; however, we are also interested in candidates with the right attitude, work ethic, and aptitude who are willing to learn. The successful candidate will work alongside and receive hands-on training and supervision from an experienced member of our dry cleaning team.

Responsibilities

As a dry cleaning technician, your duties will include:

- Inspecting incoming garments and learning to identify stains, fabric types, potential risks, and required cleaning methods
- Quoting dry cleaning and specialty-cleaning items when required
- Operating our modern, eco-friendly drycleaning equipment safely and efficiently
- Learning and performing appropriate pre-spotting and post-spotting techniques
- Pressing, steaming, and professionally finishing garments
- Inspecting completed garments to ensure they meet our quality standards
- Identifying garments that may require additional treatment or special handling and consulting with an experienced technician when required
- Organizing workloads to ensure customer and commercial deadlines are consistently met
- Maintaining accurate organization and tracking of customer garments throughout the cleaning process
- Performing routine preventative maintenance on dry cleaning and finishing equipment




- Cleaning filters, button traps, stills, and other machine components as required
- Maintaining a clean, safe, and organized work area
- Monitoring equipment performance and reporting mechanical or operational concerns
- Following workplace safety procedures and proper chemical-handling practices
- Communicating with customers to set clear and honest expectations regarding garment care, address concerns, and provide assistance whenever possible
- Assisting with other laundry or production duties when required

Experience & Qualifications

Previous experience in any of the following areas would be considered a strong asset:

- Professional dry cleaning
- Garment care
- Spotting and stain removal
- Pressing and finishing
- Commercial laundry
- Textile care
- Sewing, alterations, or other garment-related work

Previous experience is preferred but not required for the right candidate. We are willing to train someone who demonstrates strong attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, dependability, and a genuine willingness to learn.
