POSITION
Champlain College Saint-Lambert is seeking the services of an RECREATIONAL ACTIVITIES TECHNICIAN to work occasionally during weekdays, evenings and weekends in the Student Services Department.
FUNCTIONS
Reporting to the Director of Student Services, the Recreational Activities Technician is responsible for the organization and reviewing of home and special events in Intercollegiate Athletics.
MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Organizes and reviews home game and special events that take place in Intercollegiate Athletics;
2. Facilitates and assists student groups in the areas of recreation, athletics and Campus Life Activities;
3. Assists with the training of intercollegiate game-day event personnel including the selection, training, reviewing and remuneration of game-day staff and volunteers;
4. Assists the Student Life Counsellor in Athletics and Recreation with scheduling for all athletic facilities at the College;
5. Assists and supports intercollegiate athletics in other areas when required;
6. Carries out other related tasks assigned by the Director of Student Services.
REQUIREMENTS
Education
Must possess a diploma of college studies (DEC) in an appropriate specialty such as Recreation, "Intervention en loisirs" or a diploma or an attestation of studies which is recognized as equivalent by the competent authority.
Competencies
Must be able to communicate in both English and French, both orally and in writing.
Required Tests
Candidates will be required to submit to language tests as well as Word and Excel tests.
COMMENTS
The selected incumbent will be required to work in English in order to better serve faculty, staff and students.
