About Us

As Canada’s premier sea salt harvestry, Vancouver Island Sea Salt produces unrefined sea salts, flavored salts, and brine products from our facility in Campbell River. We are a fast-paced, innovative team dedicated to quality, food safety, and sustainable growth. We are expanding our production capacity and looking for motivated individuals to join our team.

Responsibilities

- Production & Packaging: Assist in harvesting, prepping, sorting, grading, and packaging our fine salt, flake salt, smoked/flavored salts, and brine lines.
- Equipment & Process Operations: Operate and monitor production equipment (including kettles, fluid bed dryers, boilers, scales, and bottling/filling machinery).
- Quality & Food Safety: Maintain strict adherence to HACCP guidelines, Food Safe procedures, and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs), including batch coding and harvest run logs.
- Sanitation & Maintenance: Perform regular cleaning, equipment maintenance, and workspace sanitization to prevent cross-contamination.
- Reporting: Complete scheduled operational tasks, equipment checks, and leave detailed status logs.
- Material Handling: Safely handle, lift, and stack production materials, up to 50 lbs.

Qualifications & Skills

- · Experience: Previous experience in food processing,



packaging, or a Food Safe environment is preferred.
- · Certifications: Food Safe Level 1 and WHMIS certifications are an asset (training provided on site).
- · Physical Requirements: Ability to comfortably lift up to 50 lbs, stand for extended periods, and wear required PPE (lab coat, hair net, gloves, water-resistant steel-toe boots).
- · Work Ethic: Strong attention to detail, high hygiene standards, self-motivated, and able to work independently or collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Schedule:

Afternoon shift is primary shift, with some occasional day shift and week end worked scheduled as needed.

Education:

- Secondary School (preferred)

Pay: $23.00-$28.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 per week
