Candidates must be prepared to relocate to Greater Sudbury and travel to commercial, industrial and mining sites throughout the surrounding region.

The Opportunity

Aeolus Staffing Solutions is recruiting on behalf of a well-established Northern Ontario mechanical-services organization that has served the region for more than two decades.

Our client supports commercial, industrial and mining customers through HVAC service, preventive maintenance, equipment replacement and construction projects. They are seeking an experienced HVAC Operations Manager to assume responsibility for the day-to-day performance and continued growth of their HVAC division.

This is not solely an office-management position, nor is it a hands-on technician role. It is a senior operational leadership chance for someone who understands HVAC systems, knows how to lead field teams and can manage the commercial performance of projects and service operations.

The successful candidate will oversee people, projects, customers and financial performance while ensuring work is delivered safely, efficiently and profitably.

What You Will Be Responsible ForOperations and Project Delivery

- Lead the daily operations of the HVAC service and construction division.
- Oversee commercial, industrial and mining HVAC service, maintenance, replacement and installation work.
- Coordinate technicians, installers, apprentices, subcontractors, vehicles, equipment and materials.
- Establish project schedules, labour requirements and field priorities.
- Monitor active jobs and resolve operational, scheduling and customer-service issues.
- Ensure projects are completed safely, on schedule and within the approved scope and budget.
- Support emergency-service requirements and changing customer priorities.
- Visit customer locations, industrial facilities and mine sites as required.

Team Leadership

- Provide clear direction and day-to-day support to HVAC technicians, installers and apprentices.
- Assign work based on technical capability, project requirements and customer priorities.
- Monitor productivity, workmanship, attendance and overall field performance.
- Coach employees, address performance concerns and support continued technical development.
- Promote a strong culture of safety, accountability, communication and customer service.




- Assist with workforce planning, recruitment and onboarding as the division grows.

Estimating and Commercial Management

- Review project specifications, service requirements and customer scopes of work.
- Support or prepare estimates, quotations, tenders and change-order pricing.
- Evaluate labour, materials, equipment and subcontractor requirements.
- Monitor job costs, labour utilization, project budgets and gross margins.
- Compare actual project performance against the original estimate.
- Identify scope changes, cost overruns and margin risks before they affect profitability.
- Support work-in-progress reviews, invoicing and project closeout.
- Help establish competitive pricing while protecting quality and profitability.

Customers and Business Growth

- Build trusted relationships with commercial, industrial and mining customers.
- Respond professionally to customer concerns and operational issues.
- Identify opportunities for preventive-maintenance agreements, equipment replacements and additional project work.
- Collaborate with senior leadership to strengthen and grow the HVAC division.
- Represent the organization professionally during customer meetings, site visits and project reviews.

Safety and Compliance

- Ensure field activities comply with company policies, customer requirements and applicable Ontario regulations.
- Promote safe work practices across service, maintenance and construction activities.
- Support incident prevention, hazard identification, documentation and corrective actions.
- Ensure technicians have the appropriate qualifications, tools, information and safety requirements before beginning work.

What We Are Looking For

- Approximately seven or more years of professional HVAC industry experience.
- At least three years of experience managing or supervising HVAC operations, projects or field teams.
- Direct experience within commercial, industrial or mining HVAC service and construction.
- Strong understanding of HVAC equipment, service operations, preventive maintenance and construction projects.
- Experience supervising technicians, installers, apprentices and subcontractors.
- Demonstrated knowledge of HVAC estimating, quotations, job costing, labour costs, project budgets and margin management.
- Ability to review job performance and make practical operational and commercial decisions.
- Strong leadership, organization,



communication and problem-solving capabilities.
- Ability to manage several active service requirements and projects simultaneously.
- Comfortable travelling to industrial facilities and mine sites.
- Valid Ontario G-class driver’s licence.
- Willingness to relocate and work full-time on-site in Greater Sudbury.

Preferred Qualifications

The following credentials are considered strong assets but are not mandatory:

- G1 Gas Technician licence.
- 313A Refrigeration and Air Conditioning Systems Mechanic licence.
- 313D Residential Air Conditioning Systems Mechanic licence.
- Experience working with mining-sector customers.
- Experience managing preventive-maintenance agreements and recurring service contracts.
- Familiarity with applicable TSSA requirements and Ontario safety regulations.
