The Opportunity

We are looking for an experienced Controller to lead our accounting operations and help build the financial infrastructure required to support a rapidly growing organization. Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer, you will oversee the day-to-day accounting function, lead a team of accounting professionals, ensure the accuracy of financial reporting, strengthen internal controls, and drive process improvements across multiple operating entities. This role is ideal for a hands-on accounting leader who enjoys solving problems, developing people, and creating scalable processes that support long-term growth. This is a highly visible leadership position that offers significant influence over the finance function and the opportunity to contribute to strategic initiatives, acquisitions, technology improvements, and operational excellence.

What You'll Do

Financial Reporting & Close Management

- Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes.
- Review financial statements, journal entries, reconciliations, and supporting schedules.
- Ensure financial reporting is accurate, timely, and supported by strong documentation.
- Analyze financial results and provide meaningful insights to leadership.

Accounting Operations & Controls

- Maintain the integrity of the general ledger and accounting records.
- Oversee balance sheet reconciliations and ensure outstanding items are resolved promptly.
- Develop and strengthen accounting controls, processes, and policies.
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and reduce risk.

Payroll, Audit & Compliance

- Oversee payroll controls and reconciliation processes.
- Coordinate annual audits and year-end reporting requirements.
- Work closely with external auditors, accountants, and tax advisors.
- Ensure compliance with relevant accounting, tax, and regulatory requirements.

Team Leadership

- Lead, coach, and develop the Accounting team.
- Create accountability, establish transparent expectations,



and support professional growth.
- Implement cross-training and documented procedures to improve team effectiveness.

Process Improvement & Growth Initiatives

- Drive automation and continuous improvement projects.
- Evaluate and implement technology solutions that improve reporting and efficiency.
- Support acquisition integration activities and help build scalable processes for future growth.

What We're Looking For

- CPA designation preferred.
- Minimum 5 years of progressive accounting experience with leadership responsibilities.
- Strong knowledge of financial reporting, month-end close, reconciliations, and audit preparation.
- Advanced Excel and financial systems experience.
- Proven ability to manage priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Experience in insurance, financial services, or a multi-entity organization is considered an asset.
