Custom Exhibit Fabricator – Part-Time
Entourage X is looking for a hands-on, creative Custom Fabricator / Shop Builder to join our production team.
This isn't a typical construction job.
We build custom booths for events, exhibitions, brands, and experiences—from display walls and counters to platforms, crates, structures, props, panels, and one-off pieces that don't necessarily exist anywhere else.
We're looking for someone who enjoys making things, solving problems, and figuring out how to turn an idea into something real.
If you like working with your hands, are comfortable using tools, building things, and seeing a project come together, this could be a great fit.
What You'll Be Doing
- Build custom pieces and structures for events, exhibits, and special projects.
- Work with plywood, MDF, lumber, laminate, and other materials.
- Build counters, platforms, display pieces, walls, bases, crates, panels, and other custom components.
- Cut, assemble, reinforce, modify, repair, and finish pieces.
- Work from drawings, sketches, measurements, photos, or sometimes just an idea.
- Figure out practical ways to build something when there isn't an obvious solution.
- Modify existing pieces when a project changes.
- Help prepare and repair event and exhibition materials.
- Work alongside our production and project teams.
- Use common shop tools safely and confidently.
- Keep the workspace organized and ready for the next project.
Who We're Looking For
We're looking for someone hands-on, curious, resourceful, and good at figuring things out.
You don't need to come from a traditional construction background.
What matters most is that you can look at something and think:
“How can we make this work?”
You'll be a good fit if you:
- Enjoy building things from scratch.
- Are comfortable using power and woodworking tools.
- Can measure accurately and work from dimensions.
- Understand materials, hardware, fasteners, and basic construction techniques.
- Have good attention to detail.
- Can work independently and take ownership of a project.
- Like solving problems rather than waiting for someone else to tell you how.
- Take pride in making things properly.
- Are reliable and comfortable working toward deadlines.
- Enjoy variety—because no two projects are exactly the same.
Experience with exhibits, events, trade shows, displays, scenic work, cabinetry, millwork, or custom fabrication is an asset.
Compensation
CA$20.00–$25.00 per hour, depending on experience and skill level.
Candidates with robust shop skills, woodworking experience, and the ability to independently build and problem-solve may be considered at the higher end of the range.
Part-Time Schedule
This is a part-time position, with approximately 15–25 hours per week, primarily during weekday daytime hours.
Hours may vary depending on project schedules, production deadlines, and seasonal workload. Some flexibility may be required during busy periods.
Physical & Safety Requirements
Exhibit fabrication is hands-on work and requires the ability to:
- Lift and move materials weighing up to approximately 50 lbs.
- Handle large sheet goods such as plywood and MDF safely.
- Stand, walk, bend, kneel, and work for extended periods.
- Safely operate common power and woodworking tools.
- Follow shop safety procedures and use required personal protective equipment (PPE).
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
Language & Location
The position is based in Kirkland, Quebec.
Functional English is required for day-to-day communication, safety instructions, and working with the production team. French is an asset, and bilingual English/French candidates are encouraged to apply.
Reliable transportation to and from the shop is an asset, particularly when working early or during periods when public transportation options may be limited.
Why Entourage X?
At Entourage X, we don't just build boxes.
We build the physical pieces that bring ideas to life.
Some days you'll be building a clean, finished display. Other days you'll be modifying something that needs to work by tomorrow. And occasionally, we'll show you something and ask:
“Can we build this?”
We want the person who gets a little excited by that question.
If you're a maker, builder, problem-solver, and someone who likes seeing an idea become something you can actually touch, we'd like to meet you.
Pay: $22.00-$28.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20.0 – 30.0 per week
Benefits:
- Casual dress
