Eco Power Equipment | Sturgeon County, Alberta

Small parts can stop a big build. Your job is to keep that from happening.

Eco Power Equipment manufactures power generation and distribution equipment for customers across North America. We’re hiring a Junior Purchaser to help keep our manufacturing operation supplied, our purchase orders moving, and our supplier commitments accurate.

This role is for someone who gets satisfaction from keeping things organized and closing the loop. You notice when a supplier hasn’t confirmed an order. You follow up before a delivery becomes a shortage. You make sure the system reflects what is actually happening.

You’ll own purchasing and follow-through for an assigned range of stocked parts, spares, shop supplies, and maintenance items. You’ll also work closely with our purchasing and warehouse teams to make sure what we order arrives when expected.

What you’ll own

Keep everyday materials available

- Review purchasing suggestions and place accurate purchase orders for your assigned categories.
- Maintain replenishment for min/max inventory, spare parts, maintenance supplies, and kanban bins.
- Place kanban refill orders within one business day of a replenishment trigger.
- Keep purchasing actions current so required order dates don’t slip by unnoticed.

Get clear commitments from suppliers

- Run a weekly review of open purchase orders and obtain vendor-confirmed delivery dates.
- Follow up on missing confirmations, vague responses, and changed commitments.
- Record supplier responses and update dates in Epicor so planning and production have reliable information.
- Flag supply risks early, with a clear explanation of the issue and the next action needed.

Follow orders through to arrival

- Manage expediting correspondence and track late or in-transit shipments.
- Request tracking information, check progress, and follow through on delivery commitments.
- Work with the Warehouse Lead to resolve shortages, incorrect shipments, and receipt discrepancies.
- Help resolve outstanding paperwork for goods received but not yet invoiced.

Keep supplier information usable

- Maintain accurate purchasing contacts for active suppliers in Epicor.
- Resolve missing or incorrect contact details.
- Support supplier onboarding to our Vendor Portal, including contact and account setup.

Be dependable backup for the team

- Learn the Purchaser’s assigned categories and provide coverage during absences.
- Maintain the same purchasing discipline and follow-through when covering another desk.

What good looks like

Your assigned buy queue is current. Replenishment orders go out on time. Open purchase orders have confirmed dates, and missing commitments are actively pursued. Supplier records are accurate. When a delivery is at risk, the team hears about it early—with the facts and a plan.

You won’t control every supplier delay. You will own the follow-up, accurate information, and timely escalation that help us respond.

What you bring

- Strong organization and attention to detail, especially when managing many small,

time-sensitive tasks.
- Clear, qualified communication and the confidence to call a supplier when an email isn’t getting results.
- Persistence: you keep track of open items and follow them through to completion.
- Comfort working with spreadsheets and business systems.
- Sound judgment about what you can resolve yourself and when to ask for help.
- A practical, collaborative approach to working with purchasing, planning, and warehouse teams.

Experience in purchasing, inventory coordination, order administration, logistics, or manufacturing would be valuable. Epicor or another ERP system is an asset, as is supply chain education.

Early in your purchasing career? We’re open to candidates with relevant transferable experience who can demonstrate accuracy, initiative, and reliable follow-through.

Why join Eco Power Equipment?

You’ll have a defined area of responsibility and see the direct impact of your work on the shop floor. You’ll build practical experience in purchasing, supplier management, inventory replenishment, and manufacturing systems while working with a team building equipment for customers across North America.

As you learn our products and suppliers, there is room to take on more responsibility and develop your purchasing career.

How to apply

Submit your résumé and a short note describing a time you caught a missed detail, prevented a delay, or followed through on a problem until it was resolved. Examples from work, school, or another responsibility are welcome.

We’re looking for someone who makes sure the next step actually happens.

Pay: $50,000.00-$65,000.00 per year
