Overview
Join our innovative aerospace team as an Aircraft Structures Design Engineer and play a pivotal role. In this dynamic position, you will participate in the design, analysis, and development of composite aircraft structural components, ensuring they meet safety, performance, and manufacturing standards. Your expertise will contribute to creating lightweight, durable, and productive aircraft structures.
Skills Required:
- 3 to 5 years relevant aerospace industry experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related technical discipline
- Design & develop detailed structural designs for aircraft components.
- Proficient use of CAD software (Catia V5 , 3DX, or SolidWorks)
- Strong comprehension of composite structures and related airframe knowledge
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including manufacturing, systems engineering, and research to optimize design solutions for production feasibility and performance.
- Manage project timelines and deliverables through effective project management practices, ensuring timely completion of design milestones.
- Familiarity with geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T;) principles
- Ability to manage time and resources efficiently in order to meet deadlines and support production schedules
- Able to work autonomously, take initiative and demonstrate entrepreneurship
- Able to work collaboratively and develop new skills within a multifunctional team
- Proficient use of Microsoft applications
- Strong and effective verbal and written communication skills
- · Create detailed 3D models and 2D manufacturing drawings using CAD software
Responsibilities:
- Design structural components
- Collaborate with stress team to optimize designs for load paths, fatigue, and damage tolerance
- Execute engineering changes
- Ensure all designs comply with aviation authority regulations (e.g., Transport Canada, FAA, or EASA) and company standards
- Participate in design reviews and technical documentation updates
- Production support of assemblies and installations
- Support work order development
- Support Quality Assurance
- Develop and propose product and manufacturability improvements
- Interface with manufacturing and assembly teams to resolve production issues and support prototype and production programs
- Participate with positive, collaborative attitude in continuous improvement and safety discussions regarding product and processes
- Perform all duties in compliance with health and safety policies
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Pay: $60,000.00-$95,000.00 per year
