About Us

The Stitchery Studio is a fabric store and sewing studio built on craft, curiosity, and care.

We exist for people who make things with their hands—and for the joy that comes from learning, creating, and sharing that process with others. Our space is thoughtfully curated: high-quality materials, well-loved tools, and an environment where ideas are welcomed and supported into reality.

We are a community-rooted studio with a robust point of view: creativity deserves space, attention, and respect. Every customer interaction, every class, every bolt of fabric on our shelves reflects that belief.

About the Role

We are looking for a Manager to shape the daily rhythm and energy of our work, and the experience of each customer when they walk through the door.

This is a leadership role for someone who brings both operational precision and genuine warmth—someone who can hold structure without losing humanity, and lead a team that makes customers feel both guided and inspired.

You will be responsible for the full store and studio experience: how it runs, how it feels, and how it grows.

What you will lead

- The daily flow of the store: staffing, scheduling, inventory, and service standards
- A small, skilled team—supporting their growth, confidence, and customer care excellence
- The presentation of the space, ensuring it remains organized, intentional, and visually considered
- Customer experience at every level, from first greeting to after purchase care
- Supporting coordination of classes, events, and in-store learning experiences
- Collaboration with owner on promotions, seasonal planning, and community programming

You will also develop hands-on familiarity with sewing and quilting tools and techniques, so your leadership is informed, practical, and grounded in the work we support.

What we are looking for

You are someone who naturally brings order to complexity and calm to busy environments.

- You lead with clarity, warmth, and consistency
- You are confident managing people, systems, and daily retail operations
- You understand that detail is not decoration—it is the foundation of trust
- You enjoy working in creative environments where no two days look the same
- You are comfortable balancing structure with flexibility, especially in a community-facing space

Above all, you care about how things are done—not just that they are done.

Experience and Requirements

- Retail or customer service management experience
- Strong leadership and interpersonal skills
- Comfort with POS systems and inventory management tools
- Ability to maintain high standards across both people and operations
- Availability for some weekends as well as weekdays

What We Offer

- A leadership role in a creative, community-centred studio
- A small, dedicated team that values craft and collaboration

- Access to sewing and quilting classes to support your own creative development
- Competitive compensation with opportunity for growth within a niche, design-led retail environment
- A workplace where quality, learning, and care are not ideals—they are daily practice

How to Apply

We’d like to understand not just what you’ve done, but how you lead.

Please send your resumé and a short cover letter that includes:

- What draws you to leading in a creative retail environment
- An example of how you’ve supported a team through a challenge or growth moment
- How creativity and sewing shows up in your life—or how you support others who are immersed in it
