Legal Assistant – Indigenous Practice Group

Employment & Labour Law | $60,000–$80,000

We’re looking for an experienced Legal Assistant to join our Indigenous Practice Group and support a team of lawyers with a primary focus on Employment and Labour law.

What You’ll Bring

- 5+ years of Legal Assistant experience, ideally in litigation and employment/labour law.
- Completion of a Legal Assistant or Paralegal program.
- Experience with CaseLines and strong proficiency in MS Office and ACL.
- Familiarity with the Canada Labour Code, courts, tribunals and Rules of Civil Procedure.
- Exceptional organization, attention to detail and follow-through.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- The ability to manage competing priorities, meet deadlines and work effectively under pressure.
- A proactive,



solutions-oriented approach with the confidence to work independently and anticipate lawyers’ needs.

What You’ll Do

You’ll be a key part of the practice, helping lawyers stay organized and matters stay on track. Your responsibilities will include:

- Preparing, editing and proofreading legal documents and correspondence.
- Tracking deadlines and critical dates.
- Coordinating meetings, discoveries, mediations and client appointments.
- Managing calendars and travel arrangements.
- Communicating with clients, opposing counsel, courts and tribunals.
- Supporting file management, docketing, billing and accounting processes.
- Taking ownership of assigned work and identifying what needs to happen next.

Compensation

The salary range for this position is $60,000–$80,000 annually, with base compensation determined by relevant knowledge, skills, experience, and internal and market equity.
