Are you a certified Journeyperson Mobile Crane Operator with Powerline experience looking for your next challenge?

We are seeking skilled professionals who can safely support the construction, maintenance, and installation of transmission and distribution infrastructure while operating mobile cranes in support of project activities. Candidates must be willing to join the International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers (IBEW) or already be a member of an affiliated IBEW organization.

Key Responsibilities

- Install, maintain, and repair overhead and underground transmission and distribution power systems.
- Operate mobile cranes, digger derricks, excavators, backhoe loaders, wheeled loaders, winch tractors and various trailers to safely lift, position, and move materials, poles, equipment, and structures in support of utility construction activities.
- Perform pre-operational inspections and ensure equipment is operated in accordance with manufacturer specifications and applicable regulations.
- Assist with powerline installations including various types of new structures, conductor stringing, grounding, line maintenance, and equipment installation and replacement activities.
- Work with crews to safely complete utility and construction projects on schedule.
- Participate in job planning, hazard assessments, and daily safety meetings.
- Read and interpret work packages, drawings, and project specifications.




- Mentor apprentices and junior personnel while promoting safe work practices.
- Complete required inspection reports, maintenance logs, daily drivers logs and field documentation.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

- Ticketed Mobile Crane Operator Journeyperson Certification
- Interprovincial Red Seal endorsement is considered an asset.
- Must have Powerline experience supporting transmission and distribution construction projects.
- Strong knowledge of utility construction methods and safe lifting practices.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
- Valid Class 3 Driver's License is required.
- Robust commitment to safety, teamwork, and quality workmanship.

Preferred Certifications

- CSTS 2020
- WHMIS
- Utility Safety Rules Training – EBG, Ground Disturbance and High Angle Rescue
- Applicable Equipment Certifications – Loader, Excavator, Backhoe, Skidsteer

Working Conditions

- Working outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Working at heights and around energized equipment.
- Operating cranes and heavy equipment on active construction sites.
- Physically demanding work involving lifting, climbing, and extended periods standing and walking.
- Travel to remote locations and camp-based projects may be required.
- Rotational and extended work schedules may be required.
