Our client is a manufacturer of rebar for the construction company. They are looking for a Maintenance Technician to join their team. The position is responsible for ensuring that all the Pultrusion Lines are running and keeping up with the 24 /7 production schedule. The Maintenance Technician works with the Production Supervisor, Production Lead Hand and the Pultrusion Line Operators to keep all the lines running and making good fiberglass rebar. If there are no breakdowns, they will follow a list of daily preventive maintenance jobs given to them by the maintenance supervisor. When required they will assist in the set-up of new equipment.
Qualifications
- Working knowledge of mechanical and electrical manufacturing principles
- Previous experience working in the maintenance of a manufacturing equipment
- Experience with the use of hand tools including but not limited to welding
- Follow the safety guidelines set out by the company and the province of Ontario
Key Responsibilities
- Daily machine preventative maintenance activities
- Work with production department to perform preventative maintenance activities
- Respond to breakdowns immediately
- Assist the supervisor in assuring that the equipment is safe
- Any other duties as instructed by their supervisor
Physical Demands
- Working for 8 hours standing and working on the pultrusion lines
- Must be able to lift between 20 and 40 lbs as required during their shift
- Must be able to kneel, stoop, squat and to stretch to fulfill tasks
- Requires grasping, pulling, pushing, standing, walking, and repetitive motions
