Spruce Grove Public Library is seeking a cooperative and service-driven leader to join our management team as Branch Manager. About the Role

The Branch Manager is SGPL's primary people and operations leader within an assigned branch. Reporting directly to the Senior Managers, the Branch Manager creates and maintains a workplace culture where employees feel supported, valued, accountable, and empowered to succeed. The successful candidate will provide leadership in:

- Employee supervision and development
- Workplace culture and engagement
- Collective Agreement administration
- Workforce planning and scheduling
- Customer experience and hospitality
- Operational excellence
- Strategic implementation
- Procedure development and continuous improvement
- Facility oversight

The Branch Manager ensures that daily branch operations align with the SGPL’s strategic priorities, service objectives, and organizational values.

Education





- Degree or Diploma in Leadership, Management, Business Administration, Public Administration, or a related field.
- Leadership Development Certification.
- Master of Library and Information Studies (MLIS) considered an asset.
- Library Technician Diploma considered an asset.

Experience

- Minimum five (5) years of progressively responsible leadership experience.
- Minimum three (3) years of employee supervision and performance management experience.
- Experience administering collective agreements and working in unionized environments preferred.
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft 365 applications and systems.

Pay: $39.58-$41.16 per hour

Expected hours: 25.0 – 28.0 per week
