ESTIMATOR – CONSTRUCTION & INSURANCE RESTORATION

AveryHR is currently recruiting an experienced Senior Estimator on behalf of our client. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced construction professional with a strong background in ICI estimating, insurance restoration, catastrophe recovery, and complex construction projects.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Prepare detailed cost estimates for ICI construction, restoration, insurance, and capital projects.

Develop conceptual, preliminary, and detailed estimates based on project requirements.

Complete quantity take-offs and review drawings, specifications, scopes of work, and project documentation.

Prepare estimates for emergency repairs, demolition, restoration, and reconstruction projects.

Provide estimating support for insurance claims and large-scale property loss projects.

Develop detailed labour, material, equipment, and subcontractor cost breakdowns.

Review contractor quotations and pricing to ensure accuracy and completeness.

Research current construction costs and maintain accurate regional pricing information.

Support project budgeting, feasibility assessments, and procurement planning.

Collaborate with project managers, contractors, consultants, engineers, insurers, and clients.

Prepare supporting documentation and cost substantiation for insurance claims.

Manage multiple estimates and deadlines while maintaining a high level of accuracy.

Provide guidance and mentorship to junior estimating staff.

Identify potential cost risks, discrepancies, and opportunities for value improvement.

Maintain organized estimating records and supporting documentation.

QUALIFICATIONS

7+ years of experience in construction estimating, preferably within the ICI sector.





Strong experience with detailed, conceptual, unit-rate, and schedule-driven estimating.

Experience with insurance restoration, catastrophe recovery, or construction claims is an asset.

Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, labour requirements, and current market pricing.

Experience working with commercial, institutional, public-sector, or large-scale construction projects.

Proficiency with Xactimate, CostX, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Excel.

Strong ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications.

Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.

Robust attention to detail and accuracy.

Ability to manage multiple projects and competing deadlines.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to work independently and collaboratively with project teams.

Previous leadership or mentoring experience is an asset.

Professional designations such as PQS, GSC, Gold Seal, LEED AP, or RICS are considered an asset.

Pay: $90,000.00-$120,000.00 per year
