The typical hiring range for this position is $20 to $21.50. Final compensation will be determined based on the selected candidate’s experience, skill set, internal equity, and organizational needs. This posting is for an existing vacancy.
Key Responsibilities
Commissary Operations & Compliance
- Ensure operational records such as opening and closing procedures, fridge temperatures, production records, and dishwasher logs are completed accurately.
- Maintain equipment cleanliness and ensure all kitchen equipment is in proper working condition.
- Ensure par stocks (food preparation, packaging, consumables) are maintained at appropriate levels.
- Oversee timely ordering and rotation of inventory according to best before dates.
- Ensure all staff adhere to food safety, sanitation, and health regulations.
Team Leadership & Development
- Train, motivate, and engage commissary team members to provide high-quality food preparation and customer service.
- Set up daily prep lists and track production numbers in the Kitchen File (Google Drive).
- Maintain open communication with Store Manager regarding any operational issues or incidents.
Customer Service & Food Preparation
- Provide excellent food service to guests,
answering questions and accommodating special requests where possible.
- Oversee preparation of recipes according to company standards.
- Handle cash-out and POS transactions when needed.
Inventory & Waste Management
- Receive and organize all deliveries in a timely manner.
- Monitor and record food waste and demos, ensuring proper removal from inventory.
Food Safety
- Ensure all kitchen staff comply with health, safety, and food handling regulations.
- Enforce sanitation standards and safe food preparation protocols at all times.
- Adhere strictly to all food safety, sanitation regulations, and company policies.
Training & Compliance
- Completion of required Lessonly training modules
- Ongoing participation in workshops and brand education sessions to stay current on wellness trends and company initiatives
- Demonstrated commitment to attendance, punctuality, team collaboration, and reliability
Other Duties
- Perform additional tasks and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications and Requirements
- 2-3 years experience in a similar role
- Previous commissary management and team leadership experience is required.
- Food Handler Certification is an asset.
- Proficient in the use of kitchen equipment (knives, ovens, stoves, etc.).
- Knowledgeable of food preparation, safety, sanitation, and health regulations.
- Strong budgeting and organizational skills.
- Ability to work independently and perform well under pressure.
- Excellent communication skills, both oral and written.
- Proven leadership and team motivation abilities.
- Flexible schedule availability including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
