Permanent / part-time Optometry assistant / Receptionist position available at Divine Eye Care, Brampton, ON. We provide state-of-art eye care services including comprehensive eye examination, OCT, fundus photography, visual field testing and advanced dry eye treatment and dispense wide variety of prescription glasses, contact lens and sunglasses. Our office hours range from 10:00 am to 8:00 pm through the week, including Saturdays. Role of Optometry Assistant is to support Optometrist in providing quality eye health care service.
Job Description
· Provide exceptional patient service in a cheerful, professional, and courteous manner
· Welcome patients in-person, over phone or online in a professional and friendly way
· Booking patients on paper-less Visual-Eyes EMR system with periodic re-scheduling for follow-up
· Confirm appointment bookings with patients over phone and via e-mail
· Pre-testing and other Auxiliary testing along with assisting in various dry eye treatment modalities
· Demonstrate excellent knowledge of eyewear products and assist patients with selection of prescription frame and sunglasses, styling, fitting, lens selection and measurements
· Direct bill Insurance companies and OHIP and with monthly reconciliation
· Verify prescription eyeglasses and notify patients when eyewear is ready
· Assist patients with contact lens training, trial lens fitting, ordering and dispensing contact lens
· Over-the-counter adjustment of frames
· Facilitate patient referrals to other healthcare professionals
· Inventory management of frames, contact lens and sunglasses including placing orders, receiving and stock control
· Participate in personal and team development training and initiatives including staff meetings, continuing education and conferences
· Perform other duties as assigned
Job Requirements
· Strong communication with exceptional inter-personal skills in English. Additional languages like Hindi, Punjabi, Urdu are a bonus
· Minimum education qualification: High school diploma or equivalent
· Should be a quick learner and adaptable, able to multi-task and be proficient with using computers
· Maintain regular consistent and professional attendance, punctuality, personal appearance, and adhere to relevant health and safety procedures
· Knowledge of operating Optometry equipment like Refractometer, Lensometer, Visual field analyzer, etc preferred but not mandatory
· Knowledge of Optical Sales with experience working at an Optometrist Office or Optical Store would be a bonus
