The Opportunity

Due to continued growth, Precision Laser & Fabrication (PLF) is looking for a Technical Sales Representative to join our growing sales team.

This position is ideal for someone who understands manufacturing, metal processing, fabrication, or industrial sales and enjoys working directly with customers to turn their requirements into manufacturing solutions.

The successful candidate will develop new business, manage and grow existing customer relationships, review customer RFQs and drawings, prepare quotations, and work closely with our programming, purchasing, and production teams to deliver competitive solutions for our customers.

PLF serves customers across a broad range of industries and provides extensive metal processing and fabrication capabilities. This role is not limited to one product line or industry. We are looking for someone who can identify opportunities across our capabilities and help customers determine the best solution for their requirements.

Key Responsibilities

- Manage and develop relationships with existing PLF customers.
- Identify, prospect, and develop new customers and sales opportunities.
- Review customer RFQs, drawings, specifications, quantities, material requirements, tolerances, and delivery requirements.
- Determine appropriate PLF manufacturing and processing capabilities for customer requirements.
- Prepare accurate and competitive quotations.
- Communicate pricing, lead times, technical requirements, and processing recommendations to customers.
- Follow up on outstanding quotations and actively work to improve quote conversion.
- Identify reasons for won and lost opportunities and use that information to improve future sales performance.
- Maintain regular contact with customers to understand upcoming projects, workloads, and purchasing requirements.
- Identify opportunities to increase the amount of value-added processing provided to customers.
- Promote PLF's full range of metal processing and fabrication capabilities.
- Coordinate customer requirements with Programming, Purchasing, Production, Quality, and other internal departments.
- Assist customers with technical questions and manufacturability considerations.
- Coordinate drawing revisions and specification changes with customers and internal departments.
- Assist in resolving customer concerns related to pricing, quality, delivery,



or technical requirements.
- Monitor customer activity, market conditions, and competitive opportunities.
- Maintain accurate customer, quotation, opportunity, and sales information within PLF's ERP/CRM systems.
- Work toward established targets for sales growth, gross margin, quoting activity, and quote conversion.
- Continuously look for opportunities to improve sales processes, customer service, and internal efficiency.

PLF Capabilities

Our Technical Sales team works with customers across a wide range of metal processing and fabrication requirements, including:

- Sheet and plate laser cutting
- Structural steel processing
- Tube and profile processing
- Forming and press brake operations
- 5-axis processing
- CNC/router processing
- Plate and component processing
- Welding and fabrication
- Material supply and value-added processing
- Custom manufacturing solutions

Experience in all of these areas is not required. We are interested in candidates who bring strong manufacturing knowledge, technical aptitude, sales ability, or a combination of these skills and are motivated to continue learning.

Qualifications & Experience

Preference will be given to candidates with experience or education in one or more of the following areas:

- Manufacturing, steel, metal processing, or fabrication
- Industrial or technical sales
- Estimating or quoting within a manufacturing environment
- Structural steel processing or fabrication
- Reading and interpreting technical drawings
- CAD/CADD, CNC programming, nesting, or manufacturing software
- Material grades, specifications, tolerances, and manufacturing processes
- Customer service or account management within an industrial environment

Pay: $50,000.00-$80,000.00 per year
