Are you a compassionate and caring nurse looking for a an opportunity to make an impact on a child's life? We are seeking a dedicated RPN or RN to provide supportive care to a pediatric client with developmental delay and complex medical needs in his home and at school within the community. Various shifts available day shifts 8:15 - 4:15 (8 hour shifts), day shifts 8:15-20:15 (12 hour shifts), evenings 4:15- 20:15, nights from 23:30 to 08:30 (9 hour shifts) and occasional weekends. Qualifications:
- Must be a graduate of an approved School of Nursing or RPN program with a current certificate of competence and be in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario
- Must maintain the amount of professional liability insurance required by the College of Nurses of Ontario
- Must have current BLS certification and a current PVSC (Police Vulnerable Sector Check)
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer medications as ordered
- Assist with G-tube feedings and hydration
- Provide basic care ADLs ensuring the child's comfort and well-being
- Accompany the patient to and from school, on school days when required and provide attentive 1:1 care throughout the school day
- Complete daily strengthening and stretching
- Seizure monitoring
- Document observations, activities and interventions
Requirements:
- Must have a positive attitude, good attendance record and work ethic
- Must be legally entitled to work in Canada without restrictions that would prevent you from fulfilling the requirements of the position
- Must have a minimum of three years of demonstrated Canadian work experience, with a solid and reliable employment history
- Must be fluent in English with excellent verbal and written communication skills to communicate clearly and professionally with the patient, coworkers and management
- Must be able to problem solve, take direction and have experience with medication administration
- Preference will be given to individuals with experience working with pediatric clients and individuals with special needs.
- Must be available to work days, nights and weekends.
- Must be able to provide a minimum of two verifiable Canadian employment references upon request
Job Types: Part-time, Permanent
Pay: $35.10-$48.70 per hour
