Junior Mechanic / Technician & Customer Sales Assistant – Willing to Train Job Summary
We are looking for a Junior Mechanic / Technician & Customer Sales Assistant to join our team.
Extensive mechanical experience is NOT required. We are willing to train the right person.
We are looking for someone who is hands-on, mechanically inclined, patient, hardworking, responsible, reliable, and very eager to learn. The candidate should already have some basic mechanical experience, know how to use common tools, and enjoy working with machinery, but does not need to be an expert mechanic.
Our company works with a variety of equipment, including:
- Diesel generators
- Diesel engines
- Diesel air compressors
- Boom lifts
- Telehandlers
- Construction machinery
- Off-highway equipment
- Mechanical and electrical systems
This position also includes customer service, sales, advertising, and social media responsibilities. The candidate must be comfortable communicating with customers, handling sales conversations, following up on inquiries and quotations, and helping promote our company, services, and products online.
Mechanical Responsibilities
- Assist with repair, service, and maintenance of diesel generators and construction equipment.
- Perform oil changes, filter replacements, engine services, and general equipment inspections.
- Assist experienced technicians with mechanical and electrical troubleshooting and repairs.
- Use hand tools, power tools, and basic diagnostic equipment.
- Remove, repair, replace, and install mechanical and electrical components.
- Learn diesel engine, generator, electrical, and construction-equipment systems.
- Assist with mobile/on-road service calls at customer locations.
- Keep personal tools, company equipment, service vehicles, and work areas clean, tidy, and organized.
- Follow company safety procedures and instructions.
Customer Service, Sales & Social Media Responsibilities
- Communicate professionally with customers by phone, text, email, and in person.
- Answer customer inquiries regarding repairs, services, parts, and equipment.
- Be comfortable having professional customer and sales conversations.
- Follow up with customers, potential customers, leads, quotations, and sales opportunities.
- Maintain good relationships with existing customers.
- Assist with social media advertising and online marketing.
- Help manage company social media platforms.
- Create and post basic business content, including photos, videos, service updates, and advertisements.
- Respond to online messages and customer inquiries.
- Help promote company services and products and develop current customer opportunities.
Mandatory Tools & Transportation Requirements
- Must own a basic set of personal mechanical hand tools required for daily service and repair work.
- Must be comfortable using common hand tools and power tools.
- Must have a valid Ontario G driver's licence.
- Must own a reliable personal vehicle.
- Must be willing and able to travel daily throughout the GTA to different customer and project locations.
- Job locations may change from day to day depending on customer and project requirements.
- Many current projects are located in Vaughan, Oakville, and Aurora, but work may be required anywhere throughout the GTA.
- Reliable daily transportation and the ability to report to different job sites as scheduled are conditions of employment.
- This is not a fixed-location position.

Who We Are Looking For
We are not necessarily looking for an expert mechanic. We are looking for someone who already has basic hands-on experience, owns and knows how to use mechanical tools, enjoys fixing things, and genuinely wants to learn and improve.
The ideal candidate is handy, patient, motivated, responsible, reliable, and comfortable talking with customers. You should be interested in both hands-on technical work and the customer/sales side of the business.
If you enjoy working with your hands, fixing equipment, dealing with customers, and learning new skills, this position offers an opportunity to develop experience in diesel generators, construction equipment, mechanical and electrical repair, customer service, sales, advertising, and social media.
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time
Pay: $20.00-$30.00 per hour
