IBM Sterling Developer (Hybrid, Toronto)

Location: Toronto, ON (Hybrid – 2 days onsite/week)

Client: Leading Canadian Enterprise Client

Type: Contract – 1 Year + Possible Extension

Rate: $90–$95/hour

Role Overview

We're looking for an experienced IBM Sterling Developer with strong hands-on experience in IBM Sterling B2B Integrator and Sterling File Gateway. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, configuring, maintaining, and supporting Sterling-based B2B integration and secure file transfer solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, configure, and maintain IBM Sterling B2B Integrator solutions

Develop and maintain Sterling Business Processes

Configure and manage Sterling adapters, services, and business processes

Develop and support IBM Sterling File Gateway (SFG) solutions

Configure and manage trading partner integrations

Develop file transfer workflows using SFTP, FTP, FTPS, HTTP/HTTPS, and AS2

Work with EDI, XML, and JSON message formats

Configure routing, file processing, translation, and delivery workflows

Manage certificates, keys, encryption, and secure file-transfer configurations

Troubleshoot Sterling Business Processes and integration failures

Monitor Sterling transactions and resolve production issues

Perform root-cause analysis for Sterling-related issues

Support onboarding and configuration of new trading partners

Support Sterling environment configuration, deployments, upgrades, and migrations

Develop technical documentation for Sterling integrations and Business Processes

Required IBM Sterling Skills

5+ years of hands-on experience with IBM Sterling B2B Integrator





Solid experience with Sterling Business Process development

Strong experience with IBM Sterling File Gateway (SFG)

Experience configuring Sterling adapters and services

Experience with Trading Partner Management

Strong knowledge of SFTP, FTP, FTPS, HTTP/HTTPS, and AS2

Experience working with EDI, XML, and JSON

Experience with Sterling File Gateway routing channels and workflows

Experience with PGP encryption/decryption and digital certificates

Experience with SSH keys, SSL/TLS certificates, and secure file transfer

Strong experience troubleshooting Sterling Business Process failures

Experience with Sterling monitoring, transaction tracking, and production support

Experience with Sterling upgrades, migrations, and configuration management

Experience supporting high-volume enterprise Sterling environments

Nice to Have

Experience with IBM Sterling Transformation Extender (ITX)

Experience with EDI X12 / EDIFACT

Experience with Sterling Control Center

Experience with Sterling database and transaction management

Experience with Sterling API integrations

Experience supporting high-availability Sterling environments

Experience with Sterling installation and environment configuration

Contract Details

Duration: 12 months

Extension: Possible extension

Rate: $90–$95/hour

Location: Toronto, ON
