Job Summary

As the Lead Bartender at Ted’s Pub, you’ll help lead the bar team and oversee the day-to-day operation of the pub bar. With 12 Vancouver Island beers on tap and a lively ski crowd, you’ll pour pints, mix cocktails, support service, and help ensure the bar operates smoothly and efficiently.

You’ll provide hands-on leadership while maintaining excellent guest service, product knowledge, cleanliness, organization, and responsible alcohol service standards. Key Responsibilities

- Leading and supporting bartenders and bar support staff during daily operations
- Coordinating bar workflow and assigning tasks to ensure efficient service




- Providing friendly, attentive, and professional service to guests in the pub
- Maintaining strong knowledge of the 12 local beers on tap and confidently making recommendations
- Pouring draft beer and serving wine and spirits according to established standards
- Mixing cocktails consistently and accurately
- Maintaining a clean, organized, and fully stocked bar at all times
- Ensuring bar opening, service, restocking, and closing procedures are completed accurately
- Monitoring bar inventory and communicating ordering and restocking needs to the Front of House Manager or Shift Supervisor
- Checking that beverages, garnishes, glassware, equipment, and supplies are available and ready for service
- Engaging with guests and creating a welcoming après-ski atmosphere
- Handling cash and ensuring accurate and efficient POS transactions
- Supporting bartenders with POS, cash-handling, service, and guest-related concerns
- Monitoring alcohol consumption and ensuring responsible alcohol service at all times
- Assisting servers by preparing drinks for the floor quickly and accurately
- Training, coaching, and supporting bartenders to maintain consistent service standards
- Providing direction and feedback to team members during service
- Communicating service priorities, operational updates, and guest concerns to the Front of House Manager or Shift Supervisor
- Maintaining knowledge of pub events, resort activities, and other mountain departments
- Answering guest questions and promoting the full Mount Washington Alpine Resort experience
- Following all health, safety, sanitation, and responsible alcohol service guidelines
- Supporting the management team with smooth service flow during busy periods
- Pitching in wherever needed — because teamwork makes the mountain run smoothly
- Upholding high standards of guest service, cleanliness, safety, teamwork, and professionalism

Required Skills & Qualifications

- Previous bartending experience in a busy bar, pub, or hospitality environment required
- Previous lead bartender, supervisory, or team-lead experience preferred




- Strong knowledge of beer styles and enthusiasm for local craft breweries

- Experience preparing cocktails and serving wine and spirits
- Ability to lead, coach, and support a bar team in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to multitask and work quickly under pressure while remaining personable and professional
- Commitment to keeping the bar clean, organized, fully stocked, and guest-ready
- Serving It Right certification, or an equivalent alcohol service certification, required
- Strong communication, organization, and customer service skills
- Ability to operate a POS system and handle cash accurately
- Ability to make sound decisions and resolve guest or service concerns professionally
- Knowledge of mountain activities, resort events, or hospitality operations would be an asset
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Physical Requirements:

- Ability to stand for extended periods and work long shifts in a high-energy environment
- Comfortable lifting and carrying kegs, cases, bar supplies, and equipment weighing up to 50 lbs
- Ability to move quickly and efficiently in a busy, crowded pub environment
- Able to perform repetitive reaching, lifting, carrying, stocking, cleaning, and bending tasks
- Ability to safely work around glassware, wet floors, beverage equipment, and busy service areas
- Availability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and peak resort periods
