Reporting to the workshop manager, the Video Department Manager (temporary replacement) is responsible for the day-to-day coordination of workshop operations during the supervisor’s absence. He or she oversees equipment scheduling, task assignment, quality control, and technical support for the team to ensure the continuity and efficiency of operations. This is a temporary position for a period of 3 months (with the possibility of extension).
Your day will look like this:
- Coordinate, manage and provide support to the work team under his/her supervision
- Plan and organize daily activities in the warehouse and prioritize the tasks of the sub-departments
- Schedules technicians and assigns work in an optimal manner according to the operational needs of the department
- Forecast labour requirements based on upcoming projects and participate in the hiring of new personnel as required
- Work in close collaboration with the coordinators for the delivery of projects
- Manage technical resources,
parts and materials needed to repair, inspect, prepare and maintain equipment
- Manage merchandise returns, follow up on missing equipment and prepare various reports for the sales and accounting departments
- Receive and ensure the execution of internal support or project requests related to the department (general inventory, cyclical counts, used equipment sales, etc.)
- Identify and eliminate potential health and safety risks
- In collaboration with his/her manager and other branches, participate in the development, implementation, and standardization of work methods
- Maintain a close relationship with other branches in relation to inter-site equipment transfers
Your profile:
- Education in audiovisual, stage technology, electronics or other relevant training or work experience
- 5 years of experience in related functions (shop/warehouse) and at least 2 years in staff supervision
- Valuable knowledge of Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Fluency in spoken and written French and English
