Savoury City Catering & Events is looking for a full-time event planner to join our team. This is a proactive sales and event planning position, with the emphasis on planning and executing great events, as well as building and maintaining an active client base.

This is not a 9 to 5 job, and the successful candidate will be willing to work evenings and weekends as necessary. You will be directly involved in seeking out and booking new business, for both corporate and special events.

Key Responsibilities:

- Planning and executing special events which will include both corporate and private functions
- Meeting with clients, planning and executing events from start to finish
- Conducting site inspections with existing and potential clients
- Writing detailed proposals outlining all aspects of the event, including menu, staff, rentals, decor, beverage requirements, etc.
- Developing and creating customized menus with the chef team, and the ability to work closely with the kitchen
- Prospecting and solicitation of new catering accounts, including bidding on RFP's
- Establishing relationships with outside venues,



vendors and clients and maintaining excellent client relationships
- Answering 'request a quotes' and other client requests in a timely manner
- Developing and conducting sales campaigns to target new clients

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

- Food and beverage knowledge, as well as an understanding of food service styles. A background in catering event planning is desired.

Requirements:

- Minimum of 3 years experience in a similar position
- Valid driver's license required, and having a car is an asset
- Willingness to attend social and networking events
- Strong experience with event planning and managing an event from initial meeting, to proposal, to finish
- Wedding planning is an asset
- Able to respond quickly and efficiently to client's changing needs
- Good time management skills
- Previous sales experience an asset
- Consistent, skilled, friendly and engaging personality
- A great team player that remains calm under pressure

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $22.00-$25.00 per hour
