What the Role Does

Turn data into better product decisions.

As a Business Data Analyst, you will partner with Product Owners to design experiments, analyze customer behaviour, and turn complex data into clear, actionable recommendations. Your work will influence product roadmaps across key customer journeys, including conversion, engagement, and renewals.

You will go beyond reporting results. You will apply statistical rigour, investigate unexpected findings, challenge assumptions constructively, and uncover opportunities that improve the customer experience and business performance. This role is for a curious, proactive analyst who thrives in ambiguity, takes ownership of analytical initiatives, and turns insights into meaningful action to uncover opportunities and strengthen how we measure, report, and make decisions across the business.

This is a full-time, permanent position working 37.5 hours per week, with the option to work hybrid from our Edmonton, Alberta office.

What You’ll Do

- Explore and analyze experiment data to understand customer behaviour, usage patterns, and performance drivers

- Lead multiple analytical initiatives, using findings to recommend clear next steps and inform priorities

- Conduct deep dive analyses to uncover customer behaviour trends, friction points, and growth opportunities

- Use AI tools to research internal documentation and tools, support SQL and code development, and review analytical work efficiently

- Build dashboards and automated reports to improve accessibility and insight quality

- Translate business questions into measurable metrics

- Deliver data based recommendations and clearly identify actionable next steps

- Improve tracking plans, event quality, and attribution logic to ensure accurate and reliable measurement

- Write and optimize SQL queries and notebooks to support analysis

- Communicate data analysis results, insights, and recommendations clearly to stakeholders

- Collaborate with fellow analysts to review results, refine methodologies, and strengthen analytical approaches

What You Bring

- Post-secondary education in Business, Economics, Mathematics, Data Science, Computer Science, or other related programs

- 3+ years of experience in data analysis, product analytics, or data science

- Strong statistical judgment, including hypothesis testing, confidence intervals, sample size and power considerations, and the ability to distinguish meaningful findings from noise

- Strong communication skills and ability to explain complex analysis clearly

- Solid understanding of statistics and experiment analysis

- Proficiency in SQL, including writing efficient queries with joins, aggregations, and filtering logic

- Knowledge of data mining and segmentation techniques

- Familiarity with Python for data analysis and visualization (ex. pandas, Matplotlib)

- Ability to manage multiple experiments and analyses simultaneously

- Proficiency using Microsoft Excel (Pivot Tables, Visualizations, Formulas)

- Ability to work independently and manage complex projects

- Strong interest in data analysis and a natural tendency to dig deeper into unexpected results

- Experience using AI-enabled development environments such as Cursor, Claude Code, VS Code, or Copilot

What Sets You Apart

- Experience analyzing and designing A/B experiments

- Ability to structure ambiguous problems into analytical plans
