As an Account Manager, you’ll play a key role in developing strategic client relationships and identifying new business opportunities within clinical trial supply services. You’ll partner closely with pharmaceutical and biotechnology customers and internal teams to develop tailored clinical supply chain solutions, strengthen existing partnerships, and drive sustainable business growth.
About the Role
The Account Manager is responsible for managing and developing accounts identified as high-growth, high-potential, or strategically important to the organization.
This role focuses on identifying and winning new clinical trial supply business while maintaining business development oversight of existing studies and strengthening long-term client relationships.
You’ll work cross-functionally to understand client needs, develop effective clinical supply chain solutions, deliver high-quality proposals, and achieve current business and growth objectives.
What You Will Do
- Strategic Account Management & Business Development
- Manage and develop strategic, high-growth, and high-potential client accounts.
- Identify and win new clinical trial supply business within assigned accounts while maintaining business development oversight of existing studies.
- Build and continuously strengthen client relationships while coordinating with internal teams to drive performance and support Quarterly Business Reviews.
- Meet established sales objectives and deliver against new business targets.
- Develop comprehensive account plans by analyzing client clinical trial pipelines, outsourcing strategies, and anticipated requirements for clinical trial supplies, storage, kitting, and related services.
- Develop short-, medium-, and long-term account strategies designed to maximize growth opportunities.
- Cultivate new relationships within existing accounts and prospective clients, identifying key stakeholders and decision-makers.
- Maintain an understanding of client organizational dynamics and use established relationships to appropriately influence business decisions.
Clinical Supply Solutions & Proposals
- Partner with internal Subject Matter Experts to develop comprehensive solutions that address client needs.
- Own and manage the development of client quotations, ensuring proposals clearly communicate the value proposition and provide efficient solutions.
- Assess clinical protocols, study specifications, and other client-provided information in partnership with Project Management, Proposals/Contracting, Operations, and other internal functions.
- Develop clinical supply chain solutions that meet client requirements while supporting appropriate financial returns.
- Ensure proposals are delivered on time and to a high standard.
- Lead the process of winning new business, including bid defense meetings, pricing negotiations, and contract discussions.
- Take accountability for achieving new business and AOP objectives.
- Manage the effective handover of new business to Project Management, Client Services, and other service-delivery teams.
Client & Operational Partnership
- Partner with operational teams and clients to protect existing business, mitigate risk, and identify innovative solutions.
- Provide regular account status reporting at the appropriate local or global level.
- Maintain structured, two-way communication between clients and internal teams.
- Ensure appropriate client expectations are established and service standards are achieved.
- Identify and communicate potential service deficiencies, risks, and opportunities.
- Lead discussions with Operations and clients to ensure forecasts for new and ongoing work are effectively planned and managed.
- Identify opportunities to improve quality, service, and customer experience and support continuous improvement initiatives.
- Perform additional duties as required to support business needs.

What You Will Bring
Minimum Qualifications
- Degree-level education in a relevant discipline, equivalent professional experience, and/or relevant Project Management experience.
- Knowledge of the new drug development process,
particularly clinical materials and clinical supply chain management.
- Understanding of planning techniques, manufacturing, packaging, storage, distribution technology, and operations within GMP-regulated environments.
- Demonstrated experience managing client relationships and developing business opportunities.
- Ability to understand complex client requirements and develop appropriate solutions.
- Ability to travel up to 50%, or as business needs require.

- Finance or business training is desirable.
- Experience working effectively within a matrix organization with the ability to influence across functions and teams.
- Proven networking and relationship-building skills across internal functions, client organizations, and third-party service providers.

- Experience using Salesforce/SFDC or a similar CRM platform is beneficial.
