About Guindi
In a profession that's becoming increasingly automated, we believe relationships matter more—not less. That's why we've spent over 40 years combining modern technology with genuinely personal service. Our clients rely on us not just for financial statements, payroll and tax returns, but for advice, strategy, and someone who understands where they're trying to go.
Behind the scenes, we're constantly building better systems, improving processes, and finding smarter ways to work so our team can spend less time on repetitive tasks and more time solving interesting problems.
What You'll Do
This is a hands-on accounting role for someone who enjoys getting into the details, working through complex files, and producing work they’re proud of.
You'll prepare year-end files, financial statements, and tax returns for owner-managed businesses and high-net-worth clients. You'll work closely with Client Advisors, keeping files moving efficiently and making sure the work is accurate, complete, and ready for review.
The role breaks down like this:
· Year-end preparation: Prepare compilation engagements, working papers, and financial statements, including accruals, adjustments, and broker write-ups.
· Tax preparation: Prepare corporate and personal tax returns, applying your knowledge of Canadian tax matters and identifying issues that need further review.
· File management and quality: Keep files moving toward deadlines, follow up on missing information, and work through review notes to improve the quality and efficiency of your work.
Beyond that, you'll also:
· Analyze financial statements and investigate unusual balances or transactions
· Work through accounting and tax issues, knowing when to involve the Client Advisor
· Maintain clear, organized working papers and documentation
· Learn from review notes and apply feedback to future files
· Use technology and AI thoughtfully to improve how we work
