The pay range we are offering is $27.53-$31.57 with benefit eligibility and MPP for any permanent position of 20+ hours.

Job summary:

The Community Support Worker provides care and guidance to individuals living and/or working semi-independently, focusing on physical, economic, vocational, recreational, social, emotional, and daily life skills development. They support individuals with mental health challenges, behavioral issues, or addictions,



offering stabilization through predictable structures, clear expectations, and positive behavior support. This role requires a multidisciplinary approach with strong skills in crisis intervention, conflict resolution, problem-solving, and communication.

The successful candidate must be able to:

· Safely push, maneuver, and assist with loading and unloading manual and lift-equipped wheelchairs into and out of vehicles.

· Provide hands-on personal care and support, including bathing, feeding, toileting, and dressing.

· Perform household duties, including heavy cleaning, vacuuming, mopping, cooking, and navigating stairs.

· Perform physical tasks that may include lifting objects weighing up to 5 lbs., overhead lifting and reaching, bending, kneeling, and other movements required to support individuals safely.

· Participate in and support recreational activities, which may include hiking, biking, swimming, and bowling.

· Work effectively with adults who may have complex physical, behavioural, or communication needs, including individuals who may display physically challenging or otherwise challenging behaviours.

· Remain calm and professional in stressful or unpredictable situations, using sound judgment, problem-solving skills,



and appropriate responses to maintain safety and provide effective support.

· Manage and resolve interpersonal conflict in a professional, respectful, and constructive manner.

Education and Qualifications

· A diploma in human/ social services or a related discipline or an acceptable combination of education and experience.

· A minimum of one year experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities and/or physical/medical/behavioral support needs or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

· Knowledgeable of and encourages each person served to develop and expand his/her methods of communication

· Demonstrated ability to facilitate relationships and connections wherein persons served expand their personal support networks and find recent and meaningful relationships.

· Proficient in Microsoft Word and Outlook

· Negative T.B test Clearance

· Food Safe Certification where required

· Criminal Record Check for Children and Vulnerable Adults (Provincial) - Clearance

· Clear Health Certificate

· Valid First Aid and CPR certification

· Class 5 or where required class 4 unrestricted driver’s license

· Must have own vehicle with business insurance and a minimum requirement of 3 million liability (Applicable to one to one support workers)

· Clear and Current Driver’s Abstract.

· Mandt Certification (Available training upon successful application)

Pay: $27.53-$31.57 per hour

Experience:

- Personal Support Workers: 2 years (required)
- Behaviour management: 1 year (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

- Driving Licence (required)
