Acden Aves is an environmental services company and a partnership with Acden - one of Canada's largest Indigenous-owned companies. We provide end-to-end bird deterrent services at various oil sands mines using the latest in avian detection and deterrent technology.
We are currently seeking a Small Engine Mechanic to join our team at the Imperial Oil Kearl Oil Sands Project to maintain and repair various small diesel generators, (under 5 kW). The position will stay in camp at site and work a 14 on, 14 off rotation.
Site Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
- Drive safely and with care in the mine, (in a ¾ ton 4x4 truck).
- Comply with the site permitting system.
- Maintain proper housekeeping.
- Participate in site HSE initiatives and Hazard Identification.
- Attend all required training provided by the client or Acden Aves.
- Comply with all site rules even if they are more stringent than those of Acden Aves.
- Comply with all drug & alcohol testing requirements.
- Comply with the Acden Aves Employee Handbook standards and policies.
- Treat company or client-supplied equipment with care and respect.
- Arrive at work fit for duty, rested, explicit-headed, and professional.
- Work outside in inclement weather, whenever safe to do so.
Qualifications:
- A related journeyman ticket.
- A valid class 5 driver's license and clean driver’s abstract.
- Strong communication, interpersonal and problem-solving skills.
SPECIAL CONDITIONS:
The successful candidate must have a valid Class-5 driver’s license and a Journeyman ticket.
