Heavy Metal Infrastructure (HMI), a division of Heavy Metal Equipment & Rentals, is hiring construction Labourers to join our growing team in the Fort McMurray / Wood Buffalo Region. Apprentices are also welcome.

The Job

Rotation: 20 shifts on, 10 off

Hours per Day: 11

Accommodations: Camp setting

Flights: Provided by Heavy Metal, to and from the region

Transportation: Provided by Heavy Metal, to and from site

Hourly Rate: $30 - $36 per hour, dependent on skills, and abilities

In addition to the base hourly rate, full-time, Labourers can look forward to the following Compensation Package Extras.

Labourers provide essential services to the Construction team as they assist the skilled tradespeople with labouring services. They are expected to meet our standards of high quality and excellence in all work they do.

An excellent Labourer will be:

- An ambassador for safety ensuring a healthy safety attitude, compliance with all OH&S;, company, client and industry policies and guidelines,



continual participation in the safety program and ensuring the worksites are clean and safe

To meet the demands of this position effectively, Labourers must be able to:

- Adhere to and comply with all safety and environmental policies and initiatives
- Represent Heavy Metal positively and professionally in all interactions with clients and customers, including written and verbal communication
- Complete hazard assessments to a high standard acceptable by OH&S;
- Load and unload construction materials, and move materials to work areas
- Erect and dismantle concrete forms, scaffolding, ramps, catwalks, shoring and barricades required at construction sites
- Operate equipment and/or assist heavy equipment operators to secure special attachments to equipment, signal operators to guide them in moving equipment and provide assistance in other activities
- Keep work and worksite organized and clean
- Remove rubble and other debris at construction sites using rakes, shovels, wheelbarrows and other equipment
- Be solution-focused and report any deficiencies and concerns on site
- Perform other activities at construction sites, as directed.

What we need from you?

- Someone who takes pride in their work
- Mechanical aptitude, and familiarity with basic tools
- Industrial/Commercial experience
- Experience operating equipment is considered an asset
- Must be able to follow direction well
- Must have an excellent safety attitude, promoting and contributing to a strong safety culture and demonstrated commitment to safe work practices
- Collaborative communication style with strong verbal,



written and comprehension skills
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Able to lift 50 pounds without assistance

As part of our Hiring Process, YOU will be asked to:

- Provide a minimum of a Class 5 Driver's License (Advanced) and clean Driver’s Abstract
- Provide a criminal record check
- Complete drug and alcohol screening with a negative result
- Complete a fitness evaluation related specifically to your position
- Provide copies of current certifications (if you do not have any of the training required to be on site, we will provide it for you)
- Comply with federal, provincial and Heavy Metal/client worksite regulations
