Under general supervision of the Foreman and/or Supervisor, performs skilled work in the maintenance, repair and/or replacement of sewer lift stations, domestic pumps, PRV valves, mechanical equipment, associated piping and structures. Position will require some out of town travel and will require employee to exercise sound mechanical judgement based on technical knowledge and experience.

-Perform scheduled maintenance on mechanical equipment.
-Repair and/or replace motors, pumps, valves and associated equipment.
-Repair and/or replace lift station piping (stainless, Galvanized, Ductile, Sch 80 PVC)
- repair and/or replacement of lift station control panels.
-Correctly diagnose problems and be able to ensure proper repair procedures are followed.
-Work within confined spaces such as sewage wet wells, manholes and lift stations.
-Operate and maintain equipment in accordance with manufacturer instructions.
-Operate hydraulic hoist in the removal and placement of lift station pump motors and piping.

TRAINING AND EXPERIENCES

Minimum two (2) years mechanical experience in municipal water and wastewater infrastructure,



but we are willing to train the right candidate.

- Class 5 drivers licence.

KNOWLEDGE, ABILITIES AND SKILLS

-Knowledge of occupational safety rules and practices as they relate to confined spaces and mechanical equipment. Knowledge of general geographic area.
- Ability to perform strenuous work in variety of adverse conditions including confined spaces.
-Skilled in the safe operation of associated mechanical and electronic equipment as it relates to the installation, repair and maintenance of lift stations, Pumphouses, PRV's, ETC, motors, piping, and structures. This equipment may include but not be limited to hydraulic and/or manually operated hoist, Grinders, cut off saw, core drill, general hand tools volt/amp meters and other electronic diagnostic equipment.
-Ability to deal with the public and fellow employees in a professional and effective manner.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $18.00-$32.00 per hour
