Clinical & Home Care Advisor (RN/RPN)

Part-Time / Consultant

Altura Care Group Inc.
Mississauga / Greater Toronto Area, Ontario
Approximately 5–10 hours per week initially
$45–$55 per hour, depending on experience

Help Us Build an Exceptional Home Care Company

Altura Care Group Inc. is a newly incorporated Ontario home-care company being developed to provide safe, reliable and compassionate home-care services to families across the Greater Toronto Area.

We are building Altura with a long-term vision: to become a highly trusted home-care organization known for excellent client care, dependable caregivers, strong communication and high professional standards.

We are seeking an experienced RN or RPN with strong Ontario home/community-care experience to work directly with our Founder and management team as a Clinical & Home Care Advisor.

This is not primarily a bedside nursing position.

We are looking for someone who understands how a successful Ontario home-care organization operates and who can help us build the right systems before we begin serving clients.

What You'll Help Us Build

You will advise and support us in developing:

- Client intake, in-home assessment and care-planning processes
- Caregiver and PSW qualification, onboarding and competency standards
- Caregiver training and supervision procedures
- Documentation and quality-assurance standards
- Incident reporting, escalation and emergency procedures
- Infection prevention and control practices
- Appropriate medication-assistance policies and boundaries
- Client safety and risk-management procedures
- After-hours and continuity-of-care protocols
- Policies and procedures supporting safe, reliable home care

During our early growth, you may also assist with selected client assessments, caregiver competency evaluations and management training.

Who We're Looking For

Required:

- Current RN or RPN registration in good standing with the College of Nurses of Ontario
- Strong Ontario home/community-care experience

- Experience with client assessments and care planning
- Experience supervising, training or supporting PSWs/caregivers
- Strong understanding of documentation, client safety and quality standards
- Ability to mentor a management team that is new to the healthcare industry
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Ability to travel within the GTA when required

Strongly preferred:

- 5+ years of healthcare experience
- Previous home-care leadership, clinical supervision or care-coordination experience
- Experience developing policies, procedures or caregiver training programs
- Experience with quality assurance, complaints, incidents and risk management
- Experience helping establish or improve home-care operations

The Person We're Looking For

We are not looking for someone simply to approve paperwork.

We want an experienced home-care professional who is comfortable challenging our assumptions, identifying risks and teaching us how to build the company correctly from the beginning.

Our Founder brings significant business and management experience but is intentionally seeking experienced healthcare leadership before Altura begins serving clients.

The successful candidate should be comfortable saying:

“Before you do that, here's what needs to be in place.”

We consider that an important part of the role.

Why Join Altura at This Stage?

This is an opportunity to influence a home-care company from its foundation.

Rather than inheriting established systems, you'll help determine what excellent care should look like at Altura—from caregiver standards and client assessments to quality assurance and family communication.

As Altura grows, there may be an opportunity for this position to develop into a larger clinical leadership or management role.

Experienced or semi-retired home-care leaders seeking a meaningful, flexible consulting role are also encouraged to apply.

Compensation & Schedule

$45–$55 per hour, depending on qualifications and experience.

Approximately 5–10 hours per week initially, with flexibility and the potential for increased involvement as Altura grows.

Some advisory work may be completed remotely, with in-person meetings, assessments or other activities within the GTA as required.

About Our Culture

Altura is being built around two commitments:

To our clients: We will never knowingly compromise their safety, dignity or trust.

To our team: We want employees and caregivers to feel respected, supported and equipped to provide excellent care.

If you have substantial Ontario home-care experience and would be excited about helping build a current organization properly from day one, we'd like to hear from you.

A genuine vacancy currently exists for this position.

AI disclosure: Altura Care Group Inc. does not currently use artificial intelligence to screen, assess or select applicants for this position.

To apply: Please submit your résumé along with a short note describing your Ontario home/community-care experience and why helping build Altura interests you.

Pay: $45.00-$55.00 per hour

Expected hours: 5.0 – 10.0 per week

Application question(s):

- Do you have experience supervising, training or evaluating PSWs/caregivers?

Have you been involved in developing or implementing home-care policies, procedures, quality-assurance processes or incident-management procedures?
Briefly describe your Ontario home-care/community-care experience and the type of responsibilities you held.

Licence/Certification:

- CNO-registered RN or RPN in good standing? (required)
