We are looking for a Talent Acquisition Specialist to join a utilities and infrastructure organization in Markham, Ontario on a Contract basis. This hybrid opportunity will provide contract recruitment support while helping the team manage a steady volume of hiring needs across corporate functions. The successful candidate will oversee end-to-end hiring activities, build strong talent pipelines, and work closely with business leaders to deliver an efficient and detail-oriented recruitment experience.
Responsibilities:
- Manage the full recruitment cycle for assigned corporate vacancies, from intake discussions through to offer coordination and pre-employment steps.
- Advertise openings through suitable hiring channels and tailor posting strategies to attract talent with relevant experience in competitive markets.
- Identify and engage prospective candidates using sourcing platforms, referral networks, job boards, and existing talent pools.
- Assess applications, shortlist suitable individuals, and conduct initial screening conversations to evaluate fit and interest.
- Arrange interviews between candidates and hiring teams, ensuring timely communication and a smooth scheduling process.
- Prepare offer documentation and support onboarding-related activities, including background checks and other required screenings.
- Keep candidate records, hiring updates, and requisition details accurate and current within the applicant tracking system.
- Handle a concurrent workload of approximately 10 active requisitions while maintaining quality, responsiveness, and attention to detail.
- Partner with HR and business stakeholders to understand immediate and upcoming workforce needs and adjust sourcing plans accordingly.
- Contribute to ongoing improvements in recruitment practices, tools, interview materials, and talent acquisition resources.
- 3+ years of recruitment experience,
with a solid background in full-cycle corporate hiring; applicants with slightly less experience may be considered if their experience is highly relevant.
- Proven success recruiting for corporate roles, ideally in areas such as IT, technology, finance, data analytics, or related functions.
- Ability to manage multiple open roles independently while balancing priorities and meeting timelines.
- Hands-on experience sourcing talent through LinkedIn Recruiter, Indeed, referrals, and other search methods.
- Strong screening and candidate assessment skills, with the ability to identify suitable talent efficiently.
- Experience working with an applicant tracking system and maintaining accurate recruitment documentation.
- Familiarity with Dayforce is considered an asset.
- Clear communication skills and a detail-oriented approach to delivering a positive candidate and hiring manager experience.
