Position Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Payroll Specialist to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for accurately and efficiently processing payroll while ensuring compliance with applicable federal, provincial/state, and local payroll regulations.
The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience with the ADP payroll platform, strong attention to detail, and a solid understanding of payroll processes, deductions, benefits, and reporting.
Key Responsibilities
- Process biweekly, semi-monthly, or weekly payroll accurately and on schedule using ADP Payroll.
- Review and verify employee time records, earnings, deductions, bonuses, commissions, and other payroll adjustments.
- Maintain accurate employee payroll records and ensure timely updates to employee information.
- Process new hires, terminations, promotions, salary changes, leaves, and other employment changes.
- Calculate and administer statutory deductions, benefits, garnishments, and other payroll-related adjustments.
- Reconcile payroll reports and investigate and resolve discrepancies.
- Prepare payroll-related reports for management, Finance, and Human Resources.
- Support year-end payroll activities, including tax reporting, reconciliations, and preparation of required employee tax documents.
- Ensure payroll practices comply with applicable employment standards, tax regulations, and company policies.
- Respond to employee questions regarding payroll, deductions, benefits,
and pay statements in a timely and professional manner.
- Maintain confidentiality and security of sensitive employee and payroll information.
- Assist with payroll audits and provide documentation as required.
- Identify opportunities to improve payroll processes, accuracy, and efficiency.
Qualifications
- 2+ years of payroll processing experience, preferably in a multi-employee or multi-location environment.
- Hands-on experience with ADP payroll systems is required.
- Robust understanding of payroll principles, statutory deductions, and applicable employment regulations.
- Experience with payroll reconciliations, reporting, and year-end processes.
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Solid organizational and time-management skills with the ability to meet strict payroll deadlines.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Payroll certification such as PCP, CPM, or equivalent is considered an asset.

Pay: $25.00-$30.00 per hour
Expected hours: 40.0 – 44.0 per week
