JOB OVERVIEW
We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Dog Daycare Attendant to join our Active team. Within 6 -8 months to potentially become an Assistant Manager and higher pay.

The ideal candidate will be passionate, responsible about working with dogs and providing exceptional care in a daycare setting. We are looking for a candidate in the Etobicoke area who can easily commute to daycare everyday.

Duties:

- Supervise and interact with dogs in a group play environment, engage in dog activities and keep the dogs active throughout the day
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all dogs in the daycare facility by watching their body language,interactions and stepping in when necessary.
- Feed, administer medication, and attend to the basic needs of the dogs
- Clean and maintain daycare areas, including play areas, kennels, water bowls and outdoor spaces. ( this will be consistent throughout the day )
- Make sure that the dogs are hydrated at all times
- Assist with customer inquiries at drop off and pick up times, and provide excellent customer service.
- Create a fun environment for dogs by providing unique activities
- Ability to stand for long periods of time
- Comfortable walking 2 dogs at a time outdoors
- Ability to perform well with 15 + dogs
- Works well under pressure such as barking noises etc.
- Has a energetic personality and can lift over 25 pounds
- Comfortable with handling dogs in difficult situations.
- High attention to detail and critical thinking skills
- Ability to act quick and come up with solutions
- Effective communication skills with team members
- Ability to perform well in a stressful environment

Experience

- Prior experience working with dogs at a daycare setting needed, minimum 1 year experience.Please don't apply if you dont have experience in a Daycare Facility. Owning a dog does not count for experience.
- Experience with handling difficult dogs and energetic breeds




- Ability to read body language and be able to explain it
- Strong customer service skills to interact effectively with pet owners
- Must love dog's and truly care for their wellbeing.
- Presentable, uses proper communication to speak to client's.
- Multitasker ( Highly important )

Ability to commute/relocate:

- Etobicoke, ON: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

Application question(s):

- Sometimes, dogs may have potty accidents inside. Are you comfortable with cleaning up after them in those instances?
- Are you comfortable safely handling dogs by their collar, harness, or lifting them when necessary in a professional dog daycare setting?

This may be required for managing group play, ensuring safety, guiding dogs between areas, or assisting dogs in situations where physical handling is necessary.

- How many dogs have you cared for at one time in a professional dog daycare setting?

Minimum 6dogs in a group setting ideal.

Please do not include dogs that you personally own. We are only interested in the maximum number of client dogs you have supervised simultaneously in a licensed daycare or boarding facility.

- If potentially hired, are you available to work Mondays from 7am-3:00pm, Wednesdays 12:00pm-7:00pm, Thursday's 7:00am-6:00pm, Saturday 10am-6:00pm? The ideal employee must be available for these hour's.

Education:

- Secondary School (preferred)

- Dog daycare in a facility: 1 year (required)
