We specialize strictly in commercial winter maintenance and are seeking reliable, skilled Snow Removal Salt Truck Drivers/Crew Leads to join our team for the winter season.

Position Details
- Job Types: Seasonal (Winter)
- Location: In-person (Newmarket, ON)
- Schedule: On-call 24/7 availability during active winter weather periods. Must be able to respond to calls for snow and ice events with 1 (one) hour notice (including weekends and holidays).
Key Responsibilities
- Operate vehicles and salting or brining equipment in a protected, responsible, and efficient manner following all recommended procedures.
- Maintain a clean and safe job site, ensuring current landscape and property are not damaged during snow and ice removal.
- Ensure vehicle GPS units and/or dash cams are maintained and plugged in at all times.
- Conduct pre-shift inspections and maintenance on all vehicles and equipment, including assigned shop tool maintenance.
- Manage and lead a hand-shoveling crew during select night shifts.
- Outline customer expectations to crews to ensure high-quality work and satisfaction.
- Communicate with customers in a polite and courteous manner.
- Conduct and document debriefings after inclement weather or end-of-season, and implement improvements.
- Prepare for and show up to shifts free from the influence of any drugs, alcohol, or medications that affect safe equipment operation.
- Complete daily logs, track hours worked accurately, and record all job expenses.
- Document and report any site obstacles.
- Comply with all local health and safety laws, wear appropriate PPE at all times, and attend safety meetings/training.
Qualifications
- Minimum 1 year of experience operating a salt truck (required).
- Minimum 1 year of experience managing a crew (required).
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driver's abstract and reliable transportation to the yard.
- Must be eligible to be insured under Spartan Snow’s automobile insurance policy.
- High school diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to prioritize, multitask, motivate, and delegate effectively.
Compensation
- Guaranteed Monthly Standby Pay: $400-550/week, paid monthly
- PLUS Competitive Hourly Pay: $25.00-30.00/hour on top of your standby pay

Pay: $25.00-$30.00 per hour

- Newmarket, ON L3Y 4Z1: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)
