Ten Thirty Construction

Lethbridge

Want to learn construction skills and build a career in the trades?

Ten Thirty Construction is looking for a reliable, motivated Construction Helper to join our team in Lethbridge.

This is a casual/on-call position with the potential to grow into regular part-time or full time work for the right person.

You don't need years of construction experience to apply. We're more interested in finding someone who shows up, works hard, learns quickly, and takes pride in doing things properly.

If you're looking for a job where you can gain real hands-on experience, learn from experienced people, and develop skills that can lead to better opportunities, we'd like to hear from you.

What you'll do

You'll work alongside our team on residential construction projects and help keep each job organized, productive, and protected.

Your day-to-day work may include:

- Loading, unloading, and moving construction materials
- Helping with demolition, preparation, and cleanup
- Assisting tradespeople and other crew members
- Using hand and power tools as you become comfortable with them
- Keeping job sites clean, organized, and safe
- Moving and organizing tools and materials
- Helping with job-site setup and teardown
- Protecting finished work and preparing areas for construction
- Following instructions and safety procedures
- Learning new construction skills and taking on more responsibility as you progress

The goal isn't for you to stay a helper forever. As you demonstrate reliability and develop your skills, we want to give you opportunities to take on more responsibility and more skilled work.

What we're looking forThe essentials

- Dependable and punctual
- Willing to learn
- Good attitude and strong work ethic

- Able to take direction and work as part of a team
- Able to work independently once you've been shown what to do
- Comfortable working in a physically demanding environment
- Able to lift up to 50 lbs repeatedly
- Comfortable standing, walking, bending, crouching, climbing, and working on your feet
- Committed to working safely
- Takes pride in doing quality work

Experience is helpful, but not required

Construction experience is an asset, but we're willing to train the right person.

Experience with any of the following would be helpful:

- Residential construction
- General labour
- Carpentry
- Framing
- Drywall
- Painting
- Flooring
- Renovations
- Hand and power tools

A valid driver's licence and reliable transportation are also an asset, as our work may take place at different job sites around Lethbridge and the surrounding area.

What you'll get

- $18–$27/hour, depending on your experience, skills, and ability to work independently
- Casual/on-call hours to start
- Opportunity for more consistent hours as your skills and reliability are demonstrated
- Potential to move into part-time or full-time employment
- Hands-on experience in residential construction
- Training and the opportunity to learn new skills
- The chance to work toward more skilled and higher-responsibility work
- A team environment where doing quality work matters

How the pay range works

We don't expect someone with no construction experience to walk in knowing everything.

If you're new to construction, you'll start toward the lower end of the range while you learn. As you demonstrate that you can safely perform tasks independently, use tools properly, and take on more responsibility, your pay can increase accordingly.

We want your skills and responsibility to have a direct impact on your earning potential.

Who will do well here?

This job could be a great fit if you're someone who:

- Shows up when you say you will
- Wants to learn a practical skill
- Doesn't mind working hard or getting dirty
- Pays attention to details
- Takes direction well
- Is willing to ask questions when you're unsure
- Can see what needs to be done and take initiative
- Wants an opportunity to grow rather than just collect a paycheque

It could be a particularly good opportunity for someone starting out in construction or considering a career in the trades.

Interested?

Send us your resume through Indeed and tell us a little about yourself.

In your application, please include:

- Your construction or work experience
- Your availability
- Whether you have a driver's licence and reliable transportation
- What interests you about construction or this position

We'd rather hear from someone who is motivated and willing to learn than someone with a long resume who isn't interested in the work.
