Diesel Mechanic – Weekend Part-Time

ABOUT US

My Construction Supply operates a fleet of seven company trucks, serving our customers with reliable, on-time deliveries. To keep our operations running at peak efficiency, we perform regular inspections and maintenance in-house, sending larger repairs to specialized shops. We are seeking a skilled Weekend Diesel Mechanic to ensure our trucks remain safe, compliant, and ready for the workweek.

RESPONSIBILITIES

- Conduct thorough weekend inspections on all fleet vehicles, including checks of fluids, brakes, tires, lights, and overall mechanical condition

- Perform routine maintenance independently, including oil and fluid changes, filter replacements, tire service and replacement, brake inspection and replacement, marker and signal light replacement, and minor electrical repairs

- Perform preventive maintenance tasks to minimize downtime

- Diagnose and record any issues requiring follow-up or external repair

- Maintain accurate service logs and ensure tools, equipment, and parts inventory are organized for weekday operations

QUALIFICATIONS





- Ontario 310T Truck & Coach Technician certification, or current registration as an apprentice

- Red Seal endorsement in heavy-duty equipment mechanics considered an asset

- Demonstrated mastery of basic fleet maintenance — through formal training or equivalent hands-on experience — able to independently complete oil and fluid changes, tire changes and repairs, brake inspection and replacement, marker/clearance light replacement, and minor electrical troubleshooting and repair, without supervision

- Proven experience with diesel engines, hydraulic systems, and braking systems

- Proficiency with diagnostic tools and repair equipment

- Possess own basic mechanic's tool set

- Valid G-class driver's license (DZ or AZ license an asset)

- Strong communication, organizational, and record-keeping skills

COMPENSATION & SCHEDULE

- Hourly Rate: based on experience

- Schedule: Saturdays and/or Sundays – flexible hours based on candidate availability
