Pre-Owned Vehicle Sales Manager

Surgenor Hyundai is looking for an experienced, OMVIC licenses, driven Pre-Owned Vehicle Sales Manager to join our leadership team.

As our Pre-Owned Vehicle Sales Manager, you’ll play a key leadership role in driving the performance and profitability of our used-vehicle operation. Reporting directly to the General Sales Manager, you will lead the pre-owned vehicle sales team while overseeing the complete previously owned vehicle sales process—from acquisition and appraisal through reconditioning, merchandising, sales, and customer retention.

This is an opportunity for an experienced automotive sales leader who understands that a successful pre-owned vehicle department requires strong people leadership, disciplined inventory management, market awareness, and a relentless focus on customer satisfaction and results.

This position will be of interest to those individuals who wish to earn a starting income of $130,000 per year plus the potential for additional income opportunity from a performance bonus plan that recognizes success along with a demo and several company benefits and coverages.

What You’ll Do

Sales Leadership & Team Development

- Lead, motivate, coach, and develop the Surgenor Hyundai pre-owned vehicle sales team.
- Recruit, hire, and retain qualified sales professionals.
- Establish monthly and annual sales, gross-profit, and expense objectives.
- Work with individual salespeople to establish challenging yet achievable goals and provide the coaching and support needed to reach them.
- Conduct daily and weekly sales meetings and ongoing product and sales training.
- Establish and maintain high product-knowledge standards.
- Assist salespeople in closing deals and ensure 100% customer turnover to F&I.;
- Monitor performance,



payroll, commissions, staffing, and department productivity.
- Foster a professional, accountable, customer-focused sales environment.

Used Vehicle Operations & Inventory

- Take ownership of the pre-owned vehicle inventory from acquisition through retail sale.
- Appraise incoming previously owned vehicles and identify quality acquisition opportunities.
- Monitor market trends, customer preferences, lost sales, dealership sales history, auction activity, and competitive pricing to determine the right vehicles to stock.
- Source quality, low-mileage inventory through auctions, wholesalers, retailers, and other channels.
- Attend auctions virtually and stay current on wholesale and retail market conditions.
- Review and approve auction purchase documentation and ensure accurate records are provided to the appropriate departments.
- Track the performance and profitability of auction purchases versus trade-in vehicles.
- Establish and maintain an average 45-day inventory turn policy.
- Ensure vehicles are properly reconditioned within established cost and time parameters.
- Plan and control the presentation, display, and merchandising of used inventory.
- Establish and manage wholesaling activities.
- Communicate daily with the New Vehicle Sales Manager regarding used inventory requirements.

Customer Experience & Retention

- Develop and monitor effective prospecting, follow-up, and sales-control processes.
- Ensure consistent follow-up with all potential buyers and used-vehicle purchasers.
- Monitor customer satisfaction and address complaints promptly and professionally.
- Ensure every delivery provides a positive ownership experience,



including an introduction to the Service Department and scheduling of the first service appointment.
- Support initiatives designed to strengthen customer retention and the dealership
