Job Overview

We are modern food producer with high speed process and packaging lines situated in the lower mainland. We are looking for someone to join our growing team and work closely with the owner and Chief Operating Officer along with the other departments in the company.

The ideal candidate will be flexible and a true team player, able to contribute to the company above and beyond just the numbers. We are a small team and there is lots of prospect to learn new skills and help in other areas outside of the accounting role.

Duties

- Monthly Commission reports and statement preparation

- Coordination and supervision of month end process and final preparation of monthly financial statements for review with senior management

- Overseeing GST Filing process and GST remittances

- Handling of WCB reporting requirements and reconciliation at year end

- Management of spend accruals with branded product programs in coordination with our broker

- Supervision of Accounts Receivables, and specifically recording of and management of customer payments and deductions, along with reviews of all deductions taken by customers in coordination with the team

- Working with Accounts Payable Supervisor to ensure payables are recorded accurately and managed properly

- Managing the IREP program (Import to Re-Export) for Dairy and Poultry products and raw materials

- Coordinating inventory count process and cycle count process with Purchaser, evaluating discrepancies and issues with purchaser,



and helping improvement process throughout inventory handling

- Reviewing of hourly payroll and employee advantages with our Payroll Specialist

- Production planning in co-ordination with related team members and broker based on customer needs, required stock levels across all warehouses, and product launches

- Management of assets registry and recording throughout the year in preparation for year end

- Preparation of year end working files for review before final submission to outside accounting firm

- Assisting with any costing exercises as directed by the COO for new products or special projects

Qualifications

- Proven experience in full cycle accounting, within food industry a bonus.
- Strong analysis skills with the ability to interpret financial information accurately.
- Knowledge of auditing procedures and internal control frameworks.
- Proficiency with accounting software systems and advanced Excel skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; skilled certifications such as CPA are preferred but not necessarily required.
- Excellent attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to meet tight deadlines.
- A self starter
