Job Overview

THM Technical Services Group is hiring experienced Industrial Ironworkers for project work in Northern British Columbia. This is not a heavy structural steel or high-rise erection job. The initial scope consists mainly of small fabricated steel structures, equipment covers, canopies, stairs, platforms, bracing and miscellaneous steel in an operating industrial environment.

We are looking for versatile industrial tradespeople who are strong on structural steel but are also comfortable around mechanical work. Candidates with pipefitting, industrial maintenance, rigging, field fabrication or general mechanical installation experience will be strongly preferred.

Project Details

- Pay: $58.00/Hour
- Rotation: 14 days on/ 14 days off
- Shift: 12 hours/day
- Overtime: After 8 hours/day + weekends
- Accommodations: Camp Provided
- Travel: Provided/arranged by THM

Responsibilities

- Erect and install small fabricated steel structures, canopies and equipment covers.
- Install columns, beams, bracing, stairs, platforms, handrail and miscellaneous steel.
- Perform layout, fit-up, bolting, alignment and minor field modifications.
- Complete field drilling, cutting and grinding as required.
- Rig, hoist and position fabricated components using appropriate lifting equipment.
- Work safely from telehandlers, zoom booms and elevated work platforms.
- Read and work from fabrication drawings, sketches and field measurements.




- Assist with installation of supports, brackets and miscellaneous mechanical components.
- Work closely with welders, pipefitters, supervision and other trades.
- Identify field-fit issues early and communicate required changes before installation.

Skills

- Journeyperson Ironworker certification preferred; strong equivalent industrial experience will be considered.
- Previous industrial construction, maintenance or sustaining-capital experience.
- Experience with rigging and safe lifting practices.
- Comfortable working at height and in a remote camp environment.
- Valid driver's licence preferred.
- Pipefitting, mechanical installation or industrial maintenance experience is a strong asset.
- A practical, team-first attitude and willingness to work across a varied industrial scope.

This role is best suited to an ironworker who likes varied industrial work and is comfortable doing more than one type of task. We are building a small, capable crew that can safely take on structural, mechanical and field-installation work as opportunities develop on site.
