Security Monitoring Officer – Enmax Place

Full-Time | Day Shift | Calgary, AB

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Security Monitoring Officer to support security operations at Enmax Place. In this role, you will monitor CCTV, alarms, access control systems, and facility activity while responding to incidents and coordinating with security teams and emergency services when required.

About the Role

As a Security Monitoring Officer, you will work within a centralized Security Operations Centre, helping protect people, property, and critical infrastructure. You will monitor multiple systems, assess potential incidents, document activities, and ensure appropriate procedures are followed.

The successful candidate will have strong observation skills, good judgment, and the ability to stay calm and focused when responding to changing situations.

Key Responsibilities

- Monitor CCTV cameras, alarms, and security systems to identify unusual activity or potential threats.
- Respond to security alerts and assess situations according to established procedures.
- Monitor and support access control for employees, visitors, contractors, and authorized personnel.
- Coordinate with security officers, emergency responders, and law enforcement when necessary.
- Conduct or support security patrols and report safety or security concerns.
- Maintain accurate daily logs, incident reports, and security records.
- Review and document incidents clearly and professionally.
- Follow established security, emergency response, privacy, and safety procedures.
- Assist with improving security processes and procedures when required.




- Maintain continuous attention and professionalism in a rapid-paced Security Operations Centre.
- Perform other security-related duties as assigned.

What We're Looking For

- Valid Alberta Security Guard Licence.
- Valid First Aid & CPR certification.
- Minimum seven (7) years of residency in Canada, as required for enhanced security clearance.
- Previous experience in security, law enforcement, surveillance, monitoring, or a related field is an asset.
- Strong verbal and written English communication skills.
- Experience using CCTV, alarm monitoring, or access control systems is preferred.
- Comfortable using Microsoft Office and learning new security technology.
- Strong attention to detail, observation, and situational awareness.
- Ability to make sound decisions and respond appropriately to incidents.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Professional, dependable, and customer-service-oriented approach.

Physical & Work Environment

- Full-time day shift position.
- Primarily office-based within a Security Operations Centre.
- Ability to remain seated and focused for extended periods.
- Ability to monitor multiple screens and security systems continuously.
- Requires sustained alertness and concentration throughout the shift.
- Fast-paced environment where situations may change quickly.
