Yard Worker

Location: Yard Operations (2177 Springfield Road)

Reports To: Yard Manager

Wage Range: $20-$25

Role Overview

Responsible for the organization, maintenance, and preparation of all scaffolding inventory. You ensure that field teams receive exact materials on schedule and in safe condition.

Key Operational Priorities

- Shipping: Priority one is ensuring field teams have exact materials without delays.
- Order Prep: Picking, staging, and banding materials (e.g., standards, ledgers, and decks) against authorized Bills of Materials.
- Returns: Unloading incoming returns, performing part counts, and tagging racks.
- Yard Maintenance: Maintaining clear paths and reducing slip/trip hazards to ensure a safe working environment.

Key Responsibilities

- Material Picking: Accurately identify and stage inventory for items on the delivery log, such as standards, screw jacks, and various sizes of ledgers or decks.
- Loading & Staging: Group and bundle inventory neatly in staging zones and perform line-by-line recounts during loading.
- Fleet Loading Support:



Assist drivers in safely loading and balancing trailers to ensure transport stability and compliance with load security standards.
- Cross-Functional Labor: Provide general labor support for yard modifications and assist with urgent material staging as project priorities shift throughout the day.

Skills & Qualifications

- Physical Fitness: Ability to lift 50+ lbs repeatedly and work outdoors in all weather conditions.
- Preferred Experience: Any prior yard experience, commercial construction experience, or experience operating a telehandler or skid steer is a major asset.
- Punctuality: Reliability and punctuality are non-negotiable for maintaining the yard’s daily shipping schedule.

Pay: $20.00-$25.00 per hour
