Our client, a leading custom yacht and boat builder in Richmond, BC, is looking for an experienced Forklift Operator to support day-to-day material handling and yard operations.

This role is responsible for safely receiving, moving, staging, organizing, and storing materials throughout an active shipyard while supporting production and shipping teams.

Key Duties

- Operate forklifts and other material-handling equipment safely.
- Load, unload, transport, and stage materials and equipment.
- Maintain organized storage, staging, and laydown areas.
- Move materials according to production and project requirements.
- Assist with inventory counts and locating materials.
- Inspect equipment and report safety concerns or damage.
- Coordinate material movements with Shipping & Receiving and Production.




- Follow company safety procedures, PPE requirements, and housekeeping standards.

Requirements

- 2+ years of forklift or material-handling experience.
- Valid forklift certification.
- Experience with large, heavy, or irregular loads is an asset.
- Industrial, construction, manufacturing, marine, or shipyard experience preferred.
- Strong safety awareness and attention to detail.
- Good communication and organizational skills.
- Basic computer and recordkeeping abilities.
- Valid Class 5 driver’s licence is an asset.
- Physically able to perform the duties of the position.

Work Environment: Active shop and shipyard with exposure to noise, heat, dust, and mechanical hazards. Overtime or shift work may occasionally be required.
